Real People, Are You One, Or are You A Greedy Want To Be?

Bob L.     Just My Opinion, BUT
Feb. 26th 2015

Is America the Country that it used to be, I can not say for sure, but I do agree to this comment from a program, if you think the same, then maybe you will start kicking some ASS with our Government, if not, then you are getting what you want, a Dictator controlled Government, not people controlled.

Why America isn’t the greatest country in the world anymore!  6 Minutes long, Remember, the United States Is Our Country, Take Care Of It before you lose it altogether.

What is the difference between real people and the Rich and the Want to Be Rich? Continue reading

DRUG POWER, The New World Order

Bob L.   Just My Opinion, But if the truth hurts, wear it with pride that you pulled some thing over on every one else.
Feb. 27th 2014

Now that the drug rule is out in the open, where will it stop, after every one is stoned and will not see that this Country has been taken over by the drug lords in out Government, Yuppies, Special Interest, to where they have finally taken over full control of every ones life but their own.

It showing a Country with an education system that is geared to teach kids the laws mean nothing and you can do any thing you want, because this Country is nothing but brain-dead people led around by lack of brains, and just think these are the people who are running our schools.

The United States in coming years, NO LAWS, at least for the ones who break the them.

School to Parents: We Want to Hit Your Kids

Comment By Bob L.
Sept. 21st 2013

[“According to Leeds City Schools Public Policy, parents or legal guardians who do not want corporal punishment to be administered to their child/children must inform the principal of the school on an annual basis.” ]   IF PARENTS were doing THEIR JOB raising their kids, and not the Schools or the Street, they would not be getting into trouble.

Now if the parents don’t want to see their Child punished for being out of line and unruly, then they should be suspended from school for one week on the first offence, if the parents don’t do any thing about it and the child continues, then suspend them for a month and make the parents pay a fine for any Damage or Problems that occur why they were being punished. It is the parents responsibly to raise their Children NOT the Schools, so parents should be held Financially responsible for what their Kids do if they don’t want them punished. No punishment mean that they can away with it and continue with it.

If these kids are disruptive and causing problems then they should be picked up by the police and put in child detention and go before a judge, and the parents pay court cost .

This why there is so much problems in children are occurring today, and why these kids are running free on the streets with no supervision or punishment when they get in trouble, they want the schools to teach these kids between the difference from right and wrong but can not punish them, so they know that they can get away with what ever they want and nothing will happen, because they even know that their parents wont even punish them, and then they wonder why these kids are in trouble, it is time for the parents to do their job and take care of them and not some one else.

But these parents are the first ones to complain about the problems these kids are in to and saying that some one should do some thing about it.

Why do you think Kids are in so much trouble today, because of this type of thinking: Spanking Kids May Cause Mental Disorders in Adulthood, But there is punishment within reason.

Alabama Elementary School to Parents: We Want to Hit Your Kids

By Andri Antoniades | Takepart.com
09-21-2013

When Alabama mom, Wendy Chandler, opened her daughter’s “Back to School” packet, she was shocked to discover that among the many papers sent to her, was a “Corporal Punishment Parental Consent Form.”

The permission slip, which has been making the Internet rounds since The New York Times reported the story this week, reads in part:

“According to Leeds City Schools Public Policy, parents or legal guardians who do not want corporal punishment to be administered to their child/children must inform the principal of the school on an annual basis.” Continue reading

Here We Go Again

Comment By Bob L.
Sept. 1 2013

Here we go again, just another way to take over another Country when they don’t EVEN know for sure who is really behind it, this sounds just like the Iraq war, throw some one out so they can put in who they want to run the Country, this happen before and look what happen, they went back a couple of years later and took them back out because they did not do what they wanted them to do.

Now here we go again, Obama want his Muslim Brother Hood put in power here just like he did to put them in office in Egypt, it is time that this Country stays out of these wars in other countries unless the are on their way here to this country by Air, Land, or Water, and not their land, this land through Canada, Mexico or the Oceans.

It looks like they are sticking their heads up their asses again to put some one else in to power, when they do not have positive prof that it was not some one else trying to take over that country and blame on the current people in power of that Country.

Obama is going to do just as he has in the past, he does not care if the Republicans, or the Democrats will authorize it, he will do as always, do it with out them with an Executive Order.

Associated Press

JULIE PACE
09-01-2013
WASHINGTON (AP) — For more than a week, the White House had been barreling toward imminent military action against Syria. But President Barack Obama’s abrupt decision to instead ask Congress for permission left him with a high-risk gamble that could devastate his credibility if no action is ultimately taken in response to a deadly chemical weapons attack that crossed his own “red line.”

The stunning reversal also raises questions about the president’s decisiveness and could embolden leaders in Syria, Iran, North Korea and elsewhere, leaving them with the impression of a U.S. president unwilling to back up his words with actions.

The president, in a hastily announced statement Saturday in the White House Rose Garden, argued that he did in fact have the power to act on his own. But faced with the prospect of taking action opposed by many Americans, the commander in chief tried to shift the burden and instead round up partners on Capitol Hill to share in that responsibility.

“While I believe I have the authority to carry out this military action without specific congressional authorization, I know that the country will be stronger if we take this course, and our actions will be even more effective,” Obama said. “We should have this debate.”

The consequences for Obama’s turnabout could be sweeping, both at home and abroad. If Congress votes against military action, it would mark a humiliating defeat for a second-term president already fighting to stay relevant and wield influence in Washington. It could also weaken his standing internationally at a time when there are already growing questions about the scope of American influence, particularly in the Arab world.

But the White House sees potentially positive political implications in punting the strike decision to Congress. Obama could make good on the promises he made as a senator and presidential candidate, when he called for restraint and congressional consultation by White House’s seeking military force. And with the American public weary of war and many opposed to even modest military action against Syria, Obama could share with Congress the burden of launching an attack.

An NBC News poll conducted last week suggests the use of chemical weapons has not shifted public opinion in favor of taking military action against Syria. About 50 percent said the U.S. should not take military action against the Syrian government in response to the use of chemical weapons, while 42 percent said the U.S. should. Just 21 percent say military action against Syria is in the U.S. national interest.

Obama’s advisers wouldn’t say what the president will do if Congress does not approve military action. If he presses on with military action despite their opposition, he would likely cast Congress as obstructionists allowing an autocrat to kill civilians without consequences.

“Here’s my question for every member of Congress and every member of the global community: What message will we send if a dictator can gas hundreds of children to death in plain sight and pay no price?” Obama asked Saturday.

It’s unclear how effective that approach would be given that Obama himself has been deeply reluctant to get involved in Syria’s lengthy civil war. More than 100,000 people have died in more than two years of clashes between the government and rebels seeking to overthrow Syrian President Bashar Assad. But Obama declared last year that the one thing that would cross his “red line” would be if Assad deployed his stockpiles of chemical weapons.

U.S. officials say that has now happened multiple times this year, most recently on Aug. 21 in the Damascus suburbs. According to the Obama administration, more than 1,400 people were killed by the deadly gases, including 426 children.

For Obama, the stakes for responding after the most recent attack were already heightened, not only because of the scope, but also because of the scant response from the White House when Assad used chemical weapons earlier this year. While Obama approved shipments of light weaponry and ammunition for the rebel forces fighting Assad, the bulk of the arms are yet to arrive.

Throughout much of the last week, it appeared Obama was ready to make good on his promises to act in the face of chemical weapons use. Five Navy destroyers armed with Tomahawk cruise missiles were put on standby in the Mediterranean Sea. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel declared that the military was “ready to go” once Obama gave the order. And the president dispatched Secretary of State John Kerry twice last week to make a vigorous and emotional case for a robust response to a reluctant public.

As the week dragged on, Obama’s international backing began to erode. Russia again opposed action against Syria, this time during private discussions involving the five permanent U.N. Security Council members. NATO declared that the alliance would not launch coordinated military action. And in the strongest blow for the White House, Britain’s Parliament voted against military action, a stunning defeat for Prime Minister David Cameron, a key ally who had expected to join Obama in taking military action.

Despite the setbacks, Obama and his team were prepared to move forward without any authorization from the U.N. and Capitol Hill. But on Friday, aides said the president simply changed his mind. After a long walk around the White House’s grounds with his chief of staff, Obama summoned some of his top aides and told them he now wanted to hold off on launching an attack until Congress had its say.

In shifting the debate to Capitol Hill, Obama is ensuring that a military strike will be pushed off for at least another week. Lawmakers aren’t due back from their summer recess until Sept. 9. House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, said he expected the House to consider the force resolution that week. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said he, too, will hold a vote no later than the week of Sept. 9, with public hearings beginning next week.

Even before Congress decides, Obama will have to directly confront the international implications of his decision. He’s set to travel abroad next week for a visit to Sweden and a meeting of world leaders in St. Petersburg, Russia.

There, he’ll come face-to-face with Russian President Vladimir Putin, one of Assad’s strongest supporters. Putin, in a pointed jab, made a plaintive plea for Obama to take more time to consider the full implications of a strike on Syria, appealing, he said, not to another world leader, but to a Nobel Peace laureate.

Digital pickpockets using technology to steal credit cards

By Matt Markovich
Published: May 22, 2013

SEATTLE — Convenience and speed are reasons businesses often used to encourage early adoption of a technology intended to improve our lives, especially when it comes to paying for goods and services at a cash registers.

But digital pickpockets have found a way to use the same technology to line their pockets with goods and services bought with stolen credit cards. The newest smartphones are making it easy for thieves to steal and use stolen credit cards.

To understand how it’s done, you need to understand our attraction to speed and convenience.

In an effort to speed up credit card transactions at the cash register, major credit card companies have adopted a “contactless” payment systems like MasterCard’s Paypass. It relies on radio frequency identification or RFID technology. RFID enabled credit cards are embedded with a hidden microchip that stores all the account information necessary to complete a transaction.

It’s the same information on a  card’s magnetic strip. The difference is how it’s communicated during the transaction. The RFID enable card uses a hidden antenna to broadcast the information to an electronic credit card reader.  The user completes the transaction by tapping the card over and electronic reader at the register. With the traditional card swipe, the account information is read off the magnetic strip.

Now smartphone manufacturers, including Samsung, Nokia, Motorola, LG and HTC are releasing phones that are “NFC” or Near Field Communications enabled.  NFC is  form of RFID technology that takes advantage of both transmitting and receiving data via the smartphone.

NFC enabled phones have the ability to read the data on microchip credit card but they do not come with the software to actually do it.  Software is also needed to translate the information otherwise the credit card data is meaningless.

Enter the hackers or code writers (depending on your point of view) who have not only written software to make the credit card info meaning meaningful, but software that leverages the smartphone’s ability to use NFC to transmit data to an electronic reader.

For years, digital pickpockets have built RFID readers that can electronically sniff someone’s wallet or purse for account information embedded on an RFID enabled credit card. That step has all but been eliminated by the cell phone manufacturers. The newest versions of Android smartphones have the hardware to do the same thing and more.

With a firmware modification and a free open source application that can easily be found on the internet, the average person can turn their NFC enabled smartphone into a credit card stealing machine and then use the smartphone as that stolen credit card.

The Problem Solvers want to see for ourselves just how easy an NFC enable phone make the job of a digital pickpocket easier.

We modified a Motorola Razr and installed the software to test just how easy it would be scan a RFID enabled credit card and play it back to an electronic reader.

KOMO News has elected not to name the application or the firmware modification because we don’t want to encourage others to do this behavior.

We visited eight Seattle area stores that were equipped to accept a contactless payment system like Paypass with and without the store’s knowledge. The Problem Solvers were able to use a variety of credit card numbers that had been scanned into the phone as if they were stolen by digital pickpocket.

We made successful transactions at six of the eight stores we visited. Of the two that were not successful, clerks believed it was a problem with the reader detecting the phone.

“That’s frightening” says Robbie Watson of Zelo Bike Shop after we showed him how I used a credit card that wasn’t my own to make a purchase at his store.  Since the electronic transaction doesn’t include the cardholder’s name, there was no way for Watson to verify the account number I was using was actually mine.

“Even if you showed me your ID, I couldn’t verify the account,” said Watson. “There’s something not right about this”

At Seattle Cigar and Tobacco, owner Naeen Ahmad realized the same problem when we showed him how we used the phone in his store. There’s no way to verify the info broadcast by the phone to the reader is my credit card.

“I think it’s very dangerous, extremely dangerous. It’s like anybody’s credit cards are not protected anymore,” said Ahmad.

Security consultant Steve Manzuik believes it’s going to fall on the credit card industry to make contactless transactions more secure.

“It’s a feature that hasn’t been very well thought out,” said Manzuik, who works with Leviathan Security Group, a Seattle firm that works with corporations on fixing their computer security breaches.

“The payment card industry wanted to speed things up a little and make it much faster for people to buy things,” said Manzuik. “They are moving to this standard, which clearly isn’t as secure.”

MasterCard Worldwide says it’s aware of the situation we were testing.

“The circumstances under which it can occur in the real world are extremely rare,” MasterCard spokeswoman Beth Kitchner said in a written statement.

“We don’t consider this to be a serious threat to our cardholders. MasterCard strives to stay far ahead of fraud. However if even one cardholder is impacted, we have a zero liability policy,” Manzuik said.

Nobody is going to buy a phone and be able to start scanning credit cards in an hour says Manzuik. But if you have the technical ability, it’s not that hard to figure out.

Manzuik believes people should be able to tap their phones and pay for something using and RFID enabled credit card.

“It’s the fact that they are doing it insecurely, that’s the problem,” Manzuik said.

There is now a cottage business growing on the internet of devices to protect credit cards, driver’s licenses and passports embedded with microchips from the electronic sniffing of an RFID reader. Most products consist of foil lined wallets and sleeves.

There are also tutorials on YouTube demonstrating how a person with a sharp knife can remove or disable the microchip embedded in a credit card.

If you want to simply get rid of the RFID enabled credit card but not the account, call the credit card company and ask them to issue you a card that does not have the microchip inside.

Put Them in Their Place, They Want It Give it To Them!

Comment By Bob L.
04-08-2013

Environmentalist, Special Interest, and Government Agencies who want Clean Air, Clean Water, and Streets Clean of Automobiles, lets give it to them, plain and simple.

Lets give them No Electricity, No Water, No Oil, No Gas, this includes Propane, Natural Gas, kerosene.

Now let’s go a little farther, can these people survive without any of these things mentioned, some will say yes, but can they, good, but one thing that will shut them down is food, do they have a place to grow their Food? do they have a Job,? not if they get what they want, they will be sitting on their thumb and NO Place to go.

If they think that the Government will help, they have another thing coming, if no one is working where is the money going to come from to help? Not even the Government Agencies will know what to do with an Empty bank, people will be in the same place that they were in 1929 to 1940.

And by giving them what they want means it will ground all Planes, cars, and Trains, so does any one have an idea on what to do if these people get what they want, one thing that will happen is that all people will have to work hand in hand no matter who you are.

People had better have a second thought before they go any farther on wanting, these people  have already wanted to much to where this Country is about to go BANKRUPT, and they will have no one to blame but themselves.

If you LIKE and agree , PASS this on.

It Really Shows Where Stupid Is Not Smart

Comment By Bob L.
03-05-2013

This is what happens when you run off half cocked and pass a law without knowing what the outcome will be, JUST LIKE OUR GOVERNMENT AGENCIES, they don’t care, just as long as they get their name in the paper that they showed how stupid they are.

They don’t care how many people they put out of work just as long as they get their way and prove just how stupid they can get, instead of getting this Country back on its feet they would rather tare it down and show people that they went to College and what they have learned.

Look around you and see what college has brought to this Country, GREED and Snobs who want every one to bow to them and what they say.

Store owners say plastic bag ban causes more shoplifting

By CASEY MCNERTHNEY, SEATTLEPI.COM STAFF
Thursday, February 28, 2013

When the Seattle City Council unanimously passed a ban on plastic bags and required businesses to charge a nickel for paper bags, city leaders believed it would be better all around.

“I think we’ve gotten to a place where it’s really going to work for the environment, businesses and the community in general,” Councilman Mike O’Brien said at the time.

But the bag ban is contributing to thousands of dollars in losses for at least one Seattle grocery store, and questions have been raised about the risk of food-borne illness from reusable bags that shoppers don’t often wash.

Mike Duke, who operates the Lake City Grocery Outlet with his wife, said that since the plastic-bag ban started last July, he’s lost at least $5,000 in produce and between $3,000 and $4,000 in frozen food.

“We’ve never lost that much before,” said Duke, who found those numbers through inventories of stolen and damaged goods.

The Dukes opened the Lake City grocery store in June 2011, and Mike Duke said in the year before the plastic-bag ban losses in frozen food and produce were a small fraction of what he’s seeing now. As he explained to seattlepi.com and also the North Seattle Chamber of Commerce, the shoplifters’ patterns are difficult to detect.

They enter the store with reusable bags and can more easily conceal items they steal. The reusable bags require staff to watch much more closely, and even though the store has a loss-prevention officer and more than a dozen security cameras, it’s tough to tell what a customer has paid for and what they may already have brought with them.

According to data released in January by Seattle Public Utilities, 21.1 percent of business owners surveyed said increased shoplifting because of the plastic bag ban was a problem. Results of another survey released in January – one done by an environmental advocacy group that found the ban “popular and successful” – didn’t mention the problem of shoplifting.

Seattle’s push for reusable bags – and shoplifters who have plagued several Lake City businesses – leave the Dukes in a predicament. Asking customers to check reusable bags at the counter would be burdensome to customers and staff, and prohibiting reusable bags and backpacks likely wouldn’t work well in Seattle, which other business owners said is known for grand environmental ideas that can hinder small business efforts.

The Lake City Grocery Outlet also saw a dramatic increase in the number of hand baskets stolen after Seattle’s plastic bag ban was initiated.

Shoplifters would fill up their baskets – some with purchased items and others with stolen groceries – and walk out of the store at 3020 N.E. 127th St. Duke would see the hand baskets discarded around Lake City and said the losses from the baskets and merchandise are in the thousands of dollars.

So last fall, the store did away with the remaining hand baskets to try and curb theft. But that frustrated some customers, and hasn’t substantially stopped losses.

San Francisco was the first major U.S. city to ban plastic grocery bags in 2007. Multiple research papers have said there are negative repercussions to public health, though supporters question or discount the findings. One study released late last summer cited emergency room treatment data and said after the bag ban began there was a spike in the number of E. coli cases and an increase of deaths from foodborne illnesses.

Another paper from 2011 found E. coli in 8 percent of all reusable bags from randomly selected individuals at California and Arizona grocery stores. Washing the bags eliminated 99.9 percent of the pathogens, according to that study – though it raised questions of how often shoppers actually do.

King County hasn’t had a public or private study on bacteria in reusable grocery bags.

But “it’s not surprising that bags are going to collect germs over time,” public health spokesman James Apa said. “People need to take common sense steps to protect themselves: wash their hands and wash their bags from time to time.”

Duke started in the grocery business at age 16 and has worked for several stores, including Safeway, Albertson’s and Fred Meyer before operating the Lake City Grocery Outlet. Neighbors and staff have praised the dedicated work from Duke and his wife, Patty, and say they’re concerned for them if the neighborhood theft trend continues.

The latest rash of produce and frozen food theft comes in a neighborhood that many say is overwhelmed by problems brought by homeless and low-income people.

Both police and other business owners say transients are a huge part of the theft problem, though several Lake City business owners won’t say that on the record for fear of being labeled as anti-homeless.

Members of the North Seattle Chamber of Commerce were told that theft at the Lake City Fred Meyer was the worst of any store in the Fred Meyer chain, which has more than 50 stores in Washington and Oregon. In an e-mail Thursday afternoon, Fred Meyer Public Affairs Director Melinda Merrill said in an e-mail the location is a “high-theft rate store, but all inner-city stores are, and Lake City is not our highest.”

Asked which Fred Meyer store has the highest theft and how the Lake City Fred Meyer compares to Washington stores, Merrill did not immediately respond.

“The Chamber is not anti-homeless; Lake City is not anti homeless,” North Seattle Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Diane Haugen said. “The question is the extent to which the hosting agencies follow up with the people they’re bringing here.”

Thank You All For Putting Up With My Comments

Comment By Bob L.
01-31-2013

I would like to thank all of you who read and follow my ramblings, but what we need is more people here and around the world to stand up and be counted, but it is hard to sit back and watch what is happening to this country and around the world, we don’t need wars, what we need is people stop meddling in our lives and learn to live their own, they don’t like it when some one meddles [ if you don’t know (to involve oneself in a matter without right or invitation; interfere officiously and unwantedly: Stop meddling in my personal life!) in theirs, so like they say what goes around comes around, and who is paying the price, innocent people, this means kids too.

What I am saying is that there are so many Brain Dead people who are so Brain Washed into believing that the Government is doing a good job of protecting its people, but the problem is that they are protecting them selves, just look at what they have compared to the working class who every day goes to work and tries to provide for their families.

And who do we blame for people not being informed of what is going on in Washington DC, didn’t you know that Fox news is a Lier and miss inform the people about the real truth  about what going on, and the other news media is telling the truth, BOY if you believe that than you are very brain-dead,  how about this. the problem is they won’t kiss his #$W#$@ like the rest.

When it comes to our Elected Nincompoops, they have Full Medical, Free Transportation, and Automatic Pay Raises, and you can not for get ARMED SECURITY, DO YOU, NO, you have to beg for yours every year or every three years, and then have the Government has the nerve to tell you NO, who are they protecting, you or Businesses, I think you know the answer to that, and for YOUR Security you sit back and watch it be taken away by Government Agencies, but you still have to pay for theirs. But yet they say the Government is doing a good job.

I am not against any one of them, I am against any one who does not stand up for the Constitution of the United States Of America, and the Bill Of Rights, and tries to destroy it, and what I have seen, this administration is doing a good job of it.

Is Best Buy Closing Stores And Laying Off For This?

Comment By Bob L.
08-25-2012

Is there any wonder why Americans are losing their jobs, and Companies are leaving this Country so they can pay such outrageous pay packages for Company Executives and CEO’s, it is not all TAXES and Regulations, IT IS GREED.

Did Best Buy here awhile back say that they were going to close some stores and do some down-sizing to save money, Gee that did not last very long, (saving money that is).

Why is every time workers want a good living wage they are told that the Company can not afford it, and they say they are going to have to start laying off to keep their head above water if they are going to make a profit, Gee I wonder why.

How come Government is not regulating these Companies like they are Insurance Companies, and the American Workers, if they did JUST MAYBE the American people would have full-time work.
