Is This Going To Be The End Of A Free Country?

Comment By Bob L: He might be a swell of a person, but a leader of this Country, he is not.
July 28th 2013

obama_symbolI can see a lot of problems mentioned in this video, one is Republicans saved money on their campaign stage, while Democrats spent large amounts of money for theirs, and to this day they are constantly spending large amounts with no regards to Americans and Future Generations.
Look at the Obama seal on his webpage in 2008, impressive, an eagle ready to fly away, an American Flag slowly disappearing, and the Obama Symbol getting brighter. Listen to the video, it explains it in more detail.  http://youtu.be/GdtqtfXdR-c

At the rate this Country is going down, I think Obama is going to try to get the Constitution and the Bill of Rights changed to where he can stay in Power as long as he wants.

thCA6OLW70

This is a President that turns his back on the American flag when it is being honored, this is not a person who is for America and the Constitution, and wanting it to survive, he wants to see his own flag flying over this Country.

He has good intentions, but he has a problem with America and it’s people, I am not just talking about whites, I am talking about all American Citizens, he has divided this Country since day one, it is like he is out to destroy all working class people, and make them his slaves where you have to answer to him, well look around, just about every thing has his symbol on it, just like in Hitler’s reign of terror.

What is Race? What is Slavery? and What is United?

Comment For Your Thoughts, read Ben Steins Comment below.
July 22nd 2013

What is race?

Go look in a Dictionary and you will see many definitions, but you will not see that it all breaks down to one meaning, that is something that you are not, or, trying to be better than some one else, trying to be the richest, or trying to be number one, stepping on any one who gets in your way to get there.

Can you deny that you don’t want the most money, that you don’t want to be numero uno, the top dog.

Look around you, you have one group that think they are the supreme and can do any thing they want, and in the mean time they are giving people who will stand up for this Country and fight for it to keep it free, then you have ones that will do any thing to cause trouble, these are cowards, they hide behind masks and ware hoodies to hide their faces, they destroy property, they don’t care who owns it, just as long as they can destroy some thing, or steal what ever they can get their hands on.

I am not talking about any one race, all it takes is one, and the rest follow, I can say one thing Blacks do stand up for their rights, but they go to far, however, the rest of the people could care less what happens to this Country. Look at the laws that have been passed and what have they done, nothing, why because they believe what the news media says, they don’t listen to all sides, they take it as the  gospel truth, the news media only want’s to sell papers not the truth.

What is Slavery?

Slavery is what all working class people are today, they are slaves to the rich, same as in the past, slave owners were the rich and backed by Government, and the same stands today, so no matter who you are today, if you are not corporate execs, at the top, then you are a slave and have to abide by their rules, no matter what color you are. You can say that you don’t work and are getting aid from the Government, well then, you are a slave of the Government, if you are not the top dogs then you are a slave.

What is United?

It sure not this Country today, this Country has become a nation of the divided, where would this Country be today if early settlers had not fought to be free from Tyranny and Dictators, well look around you, you have let this Country slowly move back to that time when we had the wars here, is this what people want today is to go back to where one person rules this Country until death, if not you are doing a very good job of going back in time.

This Country can not call it a UNITED States, it is a long way from it today, today people have become more divided now then they were in the past, and as long as we have people trying to keep every one fighting each other, we will never become UNITED and be able to ward off a Dictator.

Come on people let stop fighting each other, let protest against these people who are keeping this Country from Uniting, causing hate among people, if we want to form a better union we have to join arm and arm and fight unjust taxing, Discrimination, and a Dictating Government before we start fighting against our selves, it is it’s people who make a Country great, not the Government, people are the Government, not the other way around, and today the Government is the problems of every thing going wrong.

Any one other than a black Shoots or hurts a Black, you have a riot and destruction, and not all of them in these riots are black, but that is what the media want you to believe (now that is Racism), but turn every thing around, what’s the big deal, there no discrimination when the reverse happens (that is also Racism) that is discrimination against the truth.

The following was written by Ben Stein and recited by him on CBS Sunday Morning Commentary.

971659_10201821470364958_692813271_nYou know Ben Stein has a good Point about this Country today: My confession: I don’t like getting pushed around for being a  Jew, and I don’t think Christians like getting pushed around for  being Christians….

I think people who believe in God are sick and tired of getting pushed around, period.

I have no idea where the concept came from, that America is an explicitly atheist country. I can’t find it in the Constitution and I don’t like it being shoved down my throat.

Or maybe I  can put it another way: where did the idea come from that we should worship celebrities and we aren’t allowed to worship God  as we understand Him?

I guess that’s a sign that I’m getting old, too. But there are a lot of us who are  wondering where these celebrities came from and where the America we knew went to.

In light of the many jokes we send to one another for a laugh, this is a little  different: This is not intended to be a joke; it’s not  funny, it’s intended to get you thinking.

In light of recent events – terrorists attacks, school shootings, etc. I think it started when Madeleine Murray O’Hare (she  was murdered, her body found a few years ago) complained she didn’t want prayer in our schools, and we said OK.

Then someone said you better not read the Bible in school.

The Bible says thou shalt not kill; thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbour as yourself.  And we said  OK.

Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn’t spank our  children when they misbehave, because their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr.  Spock’s son committed suicide).  We said an expert should know what he’s talking about.  And we said okay.

Now we’re asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don’t know right from wrong, and why it  doesn’t bother them to kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves.

Probably, if we think about it long and hard  enough, we can figure it out. I think it has a great deal to do with, ‘WE REAP WHAT WE SOW.’

Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world’s going to  hell. Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Bible says.

Funny how you can send  ‘jokes’ through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think  twice about sharing.

Funny how lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene articles pass freely through cyberspace, but public discussion of God is suppressed in the school and workplace.

Are you laughing yet?

Funny how when you forward  this message, you will not send it to many on your address list because you’re not sure what they believe, or what they will  think of you for sending it.

Funny how we can be more worried about what other people think of us than what God thinks of us.

Pass it on if you think it has merit.

If not, then just discard it. No one will know you did. But, if you discard this thought process, don’t sit back and complain about what bad shape the world is in.

My Best Regards, Honestly and Respectfully,

Ben Stein

What Next For Other Cities Under This Administration, and Last?

Comment By Bob L.
July 19th 2013

Detroit files for largest-ever bankruptcy in U.S. history, they say that it started Sixty years ago, this shows just what will happen when you got to have the best of every thing and not spending money wisely.

This is going to happen all over if these Cities and States don’t learn to spend money where it is needed and not on frills, what chased businesses out of there? Why did people move out? They say that sixty-three percent moved out, could it be because of wanting to much and not taking care or business?

I don’t know about you, but I would call it spending too much on Public Servant pay and perks, that is what happen in Detroit, could this happen in your State, Cities, and Counties?

If you don’t want this to happen where you live, you better ratchet in your Governments spending and taxing, they love to spend money, but they don’t want to repair what they have, they think that new is better, Oh wait that sounds just like our schools, they would rather spend it on Wages, schools, but not on an education for our Children.

$1.25 Billion can be spent to out source to an organization to administer Obamacare, what is it $1.8 Billion to support the Muslim Brotherhood, and how much more in aid to other Countries, but when it comes to the United States where it is needed, but the same thing goes for there are no homeless people, or starving Children in this Country.

It seem to be able bail out the rich so they can give them selves Bonuses every year, the same goes for the Bonuses that they gave the IRS people.

Detroit files for largest-ever bankruptcy in U.S. history

Reuters
By Nick Carey
07-19-2013

DETROIT (Reuters) – Detroit filed the largest municipal bankruptcy in U.S. history on Thursday, setting the stage for a costly court battle with creditors and opening a new chapter in the long struggle to revive the city that was the cradle of the American auto industry.

The bankruptcy, if approved by a federal judge, would force Detroit’s thousands of creditors into negotiations with the city’s Emergency Manager Kevyn Orr to resolve an estimated $18.5 billion in debt that has crippled Michigan’s largest city.

Michigan Governor Rick Snyder said he saw no other options for Detroit and approved Orr’s request to file for Chapter 9 bankruptcy protection.

“Detroit simply cannot raise enough revenue to meet its current obligations, and that is a situation that is only projected to get worse absent a bankruptcy filing,” wrote Snyder, a Republican, in a letter accompanying the filing.

Detroit’s creditors are expected to face huge losses, and the future of retiree pension and health benefits for thousands of city workers hangs in the balance.

Anticipating the filing on Thursday, investors drove prices of Detroit bonds and notes lower, sending their yields to record highs on Thursday.

In some respects, Detroit’s legacy as a model for American innovation is at stake as well. Its crippled condition threatens to overwhelm its image as the home of Henry Ford’s pioneering assembly line and Motown’s 1960s soul-music hit machine. More recently, the city has become an incubator for efforts to repopulate and reinvigorate an urban relic of a bygone, industrial age.

New York, Cleveland and Philadelphia previously teetered on bankruptcy, but Detroit is the first major U.S. city to go over the edge.

Detroit has lost 25 percent of its population in the last decade, with just 700,000 residents remaining. The ranks of retirees outnumber the city’s active workers by more than a 2-1 ratio. With a quarter of its buildings abandoned in some neighborhoods, no other American city has borne the brunt of deindustrialization so heavily.

In his July 16 letter to the governor making the case for a bankruptcy filing, Orr laid bare the scope of the city’s decline.

“After decades of fiscal mismanagement; plummeting population, employment and revenues; decaying City infrastructure… Detroit today is a shell of the thriving metropolis that it once was,” Orr wrote.

WHITE HOUSE MONITORING

Snyder named Orr in March to tackle the city’s spiraling long-term debt, which is estimated at $18.5 billion.

A White House spokeswoman said Democratic U.S. President Barack Obama and his senior team were monitoring the situation in Detroit closely. But unlike after the economic collapse of 2008, in which the federal government injected billions in cash into U.S. auto makers General Motors Co (NYS:GMNews) and Chrysler as the first step of a quick turn through a managed bankruptcy process, Obama made no promises this time.

“While leaders on the ground in Michigan and the city’s creditors understand that they must find a solution to Detroit’s serious financial challenge, we remain committed to continuing our strong partnership with Detroit…,” White House spokeswoman Amy Brundage said.

Detroit was once synonymous with U.S. manufacturing prowess. Its automotive giants switched production to planes, tanks and munitions during World War Two, earning the city the nickname of the “Arsenal of Democracy.”

Now the city’s name has become synonymous with decline, decay and crime. A population that peaked at 1.8 million in the 1950s has fallen steadily since then. Manufacturing job losses and an exodus of white residents to the suburbs, which accelerated after race riots in the 1960s, have left huge swaths of this 80 percent black city blighted and crime-ridden.

Pay cuts and job reductions in the city’s police and fire departments have added to the sense of insecurity. Budget cuts have left streetlights broken, fire hydrants out of order, and cop cars and fire trucks badly in need of repair.

The city’s murder rate is at its highest in nearly 40 years; only a third of Detroit’s ambulances were in service in the first quarter of 2013; and an estimated 5,000 buildings a year intentionally are set on fire.

To compound the challenges, a crime wave in city government has compromised efforts to recover. In just one high-profile case, former Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick sits in prison, after he and associates were convicted of public corruption and systematic bid rigging.

The private sector has sought to make inroads against the crushing problems. Quicken Loans founder Dan Gilbert in 2010 began moving more than 7,000 jobs downtown, and several Detroit-based foundations have begun targeted investment in small local firms, neighborhoods and public schools.

But despite high taxes, the city’s coffers have continued to dwindle.

In June, the city’s emergency manager, Orr, presented a proposal to creditors offering them pennies on the dollar. His plan had met with resistance from some creditors, most notably Detroit’s two pension funds representing retired city workers. The funds recently filed lawsuits in a state court challenging the governor’s ability to authorize Orr to file for bankruptcy.

LONG ROAD AHEAD

Creditors are expected to mount a stiff challenge to the bankruptcy, which was filed in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in the Eastern District of Michigan.

Douglas Bernstein, a bankruptcy attorney at Plunkett Cooney in the Detroit suburb of Bloomfield Hills, said he expected the case would last one to three years and would be very costly.

“This could run to tens-of-millions to hundreds-of-millions of dollars,” he said.

Orr has said previously that he hoped Detroit could emerge from bankruptcy in a year or less. During a press conference in Detroit on Thursday after the bankruptcy filing, he said he hoped Detroit would emerge from bankruptcy by late summer or fall in 2014.

“We are planning to get through this process as expeditiously as possible,” said Orr, an experienced bankruptcy lawyer before he took the emergency manager job.

Corporate bankruptcy filings with far less at stake have taken much longer than Orr’s targeted timeline. Richard Ciccarone, managing director of McDonnell Investment Management, said it would be a long, drawn out process.

“They’re dealing with very difficult issues in which there’s not very much court precedent for a major city in this arena,” he said.

While thousands of companies have gone through bankruptcy and emerged intact, only a relative handful American cities have made Chapter 9 filings since the Bankruptcy Act was amended in 1934 to include municipalities. The paucity of precedent and sheer number of creditors portend a complicated road ahead.

“It’s a very complex landscape and it’s one that’s going to be watched very closely by municipal investors,” said Robert Amodeo, a portfolio manager at Western Asset in New York.

General Motors, the only major U.S. automaker headquartered in Detroit, said in a statement that the company “is proud to call Detroit home and…(this is) a day that we and others hoped would not come. We believe, however, that today also can mark a clean start for the city.”

Ford Motor Co (NYS:F), which is based in the Detroit suburb of Dearborn, said it was “optimistic that governmental leaders will be successful in strengthening the community.”

But Ed McNeil, chief negotiator for a coalition of 33 unions that represent most of the service workers for the city of Detroit said the bankruptcy filing was about “busting the unions.”

“I’ve said all along that this is a power grab,” said McNeil. “This is not about fixing the city’s finances. It’s about the governor and his own agenda to take over the city of Detroit.”

CDC & The Food & Drug are they Really Protecting Us, Or Companies?

Comment By Bob L.
July 12th 2013

Why are these Ag laws something to worry about, especially when our protector have let a so much bad food get put on the market.

I don’t know about you, I would be a little worries about what is being put on the store shelves, and in the meat coolers and freezers of your favorite food stores.

We know that steroids (illegal for humans to use) are being feed to beef up our meat, and now we have Marijuana starting to be put in the feed, and our food, is this how they are going to make us healthy by putting Drugs in out food, what else is being put into our foods that they don’t want you to know.

I can understand these radical groups that are only there to make people to think their way, and it does not have any thing to do with the safety of out food, just their way to protest, but not for the good of the Country.

Why are our Government Inspector not turning in wrong doings at these plants when Whistleblowers are seeing it going on? Is it I scratch your back you scratch mine, you know how the Government Agencies classify things that are really not to be classified.

National Geographic Photographer Arrested After Taking Photos of Kansas Feedlot

A freelance photographer on assignment for National Geographic was arrested in Finney County, Kansas, on June 28, after snapping aerial photographs of a cattle feedlot as part of a series on food issues scheduled for next year.

According to the Hutchinson News, Steinmetz was spotted in the air by a feedlot employee who reported the sighting to the sheriff’s office, noting that Steinmetz’s SUV was parked on ranch property. After Steinmetz and his ground support, Wei Zhang (described as a self-employed paraglide instructor), moved to another location, the feedlot executives insisted the men be arrested.

To be clear, George Steinmetz, who took the aerial photos from a paraglider, was not charged with breaking the state’s Farm Animal and Field Crop and Research Facilities Protection Act (we’ll get to that in a minute). Finney County Sheriff Kevin Bascue tells us that Steinmetz and Zhang were “arrested for having allegedly driven their vehicle onto private property that was clearly posted ‘No Trespassing.’ ”

Steinmetz did not respond to our request for an interview. National Geographic spokesperson Beth Foster would only issue this statement:

George Steinmetz was briefly detained by authorities in Kansas on June 28, 2013.  He was shooting aerial photographs for National Geographic magazine, as part of a series of stories on food issues that will appear next year.  We believe he did not break any laws and have reached out to local officials about the incident.  We are awaiting more information.  If the matter does require legal action, National Geographic will provide for his and his assistant’s defense.

Susan Richmeier, Finney County attorney, tells TakePart this is a simple criminal trespass misdemeanor case.

“The deal with these animal facilities is they’re not enclosed. They’re contained. There are trade secrets and security issues. What are they taking the photos for? To damage us? Sue us? Why is someone there? If someone is coming onto posted property—the question is why? Most of the feedlot guys would cooperate with any photographer. They just want to be asked,” says Richmeier.

Which feedlot facility are we talking about? Richmeier declined to identify them.

“They don’t want to be put in the public eye,” she says.

A looksee through the Kansas Department of Agriculture Division of Animal Health’s Annual Feedlot Report shows there are at least 12 feedlot facilities in Finney County, with a combined capacity of over 305,000 head of cattle. (To put that in perspective, Finney County has a population of approximately 37,000 people.) At its simplest definition, feedlots are the final stage of production, where cattle go to be fattened for market.

While the call to police was about a trespassing charge, it’s easy to jump to the underlying conclusion—this is really about Kansas’ ag-gag statue.

“Kansas was actually one of the first states to adopt a law restricting access to agricultural operations and prohibiting the photographing of agricultural facilities,” says Susan Schneider, Director, LL.M. in Agricultural & Food Law at the University of Arkansas School of Law. “The Kansas legislature passed the “Farm Animal and Field Crop and Research Facilities Protection Act” (K.S.A. 47-1825-1830) in 1990. This statute makes it a crime to ‘enter an animal facility to take pictures by photograph, video camera or by any other means.’ ”

But Steinmetz didn’t enter the facility; he flew through the air above it. Had he not been arrested for trespassing, would he have been crossing the legal line by taking photos from above? The answer is unclear.

“A landowner’s rights do extend to the airspace above his/her property. But the airways can be analogized to a public highway. If one is traveling through the air for a legitimate purpose in a reasonable manner at a height that would not unreasonably interfere with the landowner’s enjoyment of his/her property, in conformity with relevant flight regulations, then it would not be a trespass,” writes Schneider in an email.

“This issue may be coming up more and more, as state and federal gov’t agencies often need to rely on aerial photos for enforcement of conservation and environmental laws,” she says.

It’s also a hot topic among journalists and animal activists who are considering the use of drones to gather photo evidence of animal abuse.

Schneider says the issue here isn’t whether it’s a charge of trespassing or a violation of the agricultural protection act.

“The real issue is transparency. Farmers, feedlot operators and processors are all producing a product to sell to consumers. And that product is perhaps the most essential product on Earth—our food. Anytime the industry complains that people should not take a picture of how our food is being produced, it casts all of agriculture in a bad light,” she writes.

Hope And Change, Really?

Comment By Bob L.
July 9th 2013

I can remember back in 2008 when a Senator running for President said he was for hope and change and spreading the wealth around by taking it from the rich and having them pay their fair share and giving it to the poor.

Well it has been Four Years and the poor are spreading the wealth while the rich are reaping the glory of the money, just the reverse of what he said was going to do.

Well if you have not heard this person, listen and see if you can see what he went through as a kid in Cuba, and then the United States when he was growing up until now, I think he tells a pretty sad story of what can happen when you don’t pay attention to what is going on.

If you believe in and love this Country, stand up and fight for it, don’t let it be torn down, Listen to this Gentleman all the way through, and then see if we are  not headed in the same direction as Castro and Hitler.

I believe that we should spend more time finding out who we are going to put in charge of our Country to give true hope and change, not just a bunch of lies just to get elected so they can rewrite the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights, if they are caught in lies, throw them out right away, don’t give them a chance to change any thing, freeze what they can do immediately.

This Country has to stop profiling and using each other against one another just to get what they want, they keep saying that all people are equal, but when it comes to wanting some thing, the first thing that comes up is profiling, we are a free nation why can’t we keep it this way and stop this hatred to others, but when you have a Government that thinks that hate groups are only white people, just look at what the White House said about the Westboro Baptist Church, was not a hate group, well it seems falls under what the LAW calls a hate group.

This has become a Country of hate, I can remember when thing were going in the direction of excepting you for who you are not where you came from or your color, today every thing has started to go back to the time of slavery, but this time it is all people making less than $60,000.00 a year or ones who now don’t even have a chance to find a job, this is getting pretty sad for a Country that fought to be free from Dictating Governments.
