An ethics investigation into Rep. Maxine Waters (D.-Calif.) has found that “connections to prominent people” were a consideration in giving millions of TARP dollars to an unqualified failing bank in which her husband was heavily invested.

Maxine Waters on Ethics Trial: ‘Leave Me Alone’

Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) was charged with three counts of ethical violations on August 2, but the Democrat-controlled House Ethics Committee refuses to schedule her trial. Republicans on the committee demand a trial this month, before the midterm elections.

HUMAN EVENTS found Waters walking alone in the underground tunnel from the U.S. Capitol to the House office buildings. When asked if her hearing on ethical charges will happen before or after the November election, Waters gave us the universal “talk to the hand.”

Just as a scientist who insists that the sun revolves around the Earth must make erroneous and unsustainable claims to support his flawed premise, so it is that insisting that America is a racist nation requires syndicated columnist Bob Herbert to write things that anyone but a member of the same cult—the cult of the true racists—would instantly recognize to be false.
