GOP Attacks White House On Unemployment Data

By Bob L.

Does any one know how many Unemployed are really sitting at home looking for work and can no longer get Unemployment, the Government sure does not know, they don’t even know how many more are being laid off, I am beginning to think that every one that is laid off, this Administration believes that they got a job, not lose a job.

This Administration only knows one thing, that is to BLOW smoke up the Americans ass and make PROMISES, and they want you to believe that they are creating jobs, well they are creating jobs, but they are not jobs that will turn this Country around and put People to work, they are Government JOBS that will just drag this Country Down, because Government does not produce a product to sell, and will eventual run out of money if it does not get MANUFACTURING back in this Country.

WASHINGTON -(Dow Jones)- Republicans on Friday pounced on the latest U.S. employment data, holding it up as proof that the Obama administration’s economic policies simply aren’t working for U.S. families and small businesses.

The U.S. economy continued to lose jobs in September and the unemployment rate held steady at 9.6%, according to a government report released Friday morning.

With the mid-term elections just weeks away, Republicans argued that Obama’s promises of economic recovery aren’t being realized and that it’s time the country moves in a new direction.

House Republican Leader John Boehner (R, Ohio) specifically touted the GOP economic agenda, dubbed the Pledge to America, saying it would do more to enhance the nation’s jobs picture by setting a blueprint for creating new jobs and helping small businesses.

“This disappointing jobs report demonstrates the pressing need to immediately enact the Pledge to America and help end the uncertainty caused by Washington Democrats’ out-of-control spending spree and job-killing policies,” said Boehner.

Democrats, meanwhile, pointed out that the private sector added 64,000 jobs in September, and argued that Republican policies would simply take the country backwards.

“Today’s jobs report shows our private sector continues to lead our economic recovery,” said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D, Calif).

She argued that America’s businesses have added more jobs this year than the Bush administration and its Republican allies did in eight years.

“Democrats are moving our country forward, and we will and we must do more to strengthen our economy and put people back to work,” she said.

Still, Rep. Mike Pence, (R-Indiana) blamed Democrats’ policies for the high unemployment rate, saying Democrats’ plans call for tax increases and more borrowing.

“It’s time for a new direction to get this economy moving again,” said Pence. “Congress should come back to Washington and vote immediately to ensure that there will be no tax increases on American families, small business owners, and family farms.”

Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) also argued that the Obama administration’s policies simply aren’t working.

“Today’s jobs report is a huge disappointment to the millions of unemployed Americans who are tired of this Administration’s empty promises,” he said.

Meanwhile, White House economic advisor Austan Goolsbee said the unemployment report shows some evidence of economic recovery even though more work needs to be done to give the economy a real boost.

“This growth provides more evidence that the economy continues to recover, but we must do more to put the economy on a path of robust economic growth,” said Goolsbee, who heads the White House Council of Economic Advisers. “At the same time, the rate of job growth is not as large as needed to bring the unemployment rate down quickly, as the unemployment rate remained at 9.6%.”
