Silence! Dems Trying to Bully Employers on ObamaCare’s Job-Killing Impact

Ohio’s 8th Congressional District Blog

Posted by Press Office on March 30, 2010

Washington Democrats want the nation’s employers to think twice about alerting their workers, customers, shareholders, and the public at large to the financial impact of President Obama’s new health care law, whether it’s AT&T ($1 billion), Deere & Co. ($150 million), Caterpillar ($100 million), 3M ($90 million), AK Steel ($31 milllion), and Valero Energy (up to $20 million.)

The White House blog has been used to question the credibility of these statements. A Cabinet secretary called these public disclosures “irresponsible.” House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Henry Waxman (D-CA) wants to hold hearings and issue subpoenas. These scare tactics are not surprising. Last fall, the Obama Administration issued a gag order designed to keep seniors in the dark about ObamaCare’s massive Medicare cuts.

America’s workers have a right to know how this new law will affect them. As do the millions of retirees who may lose their drug benefits. As do the customers who may have to pay higher prices to cover these losses. As do the small businesses who rely on these companies for telecommunications (AT&T), office supplies (3M), gasoline (Valero), and equipment (Caterpillar, John Deere)? These are the very valid questions House Republicans are discussing with their constituents this week while Democrats are attacking companies having a hard enough time trying to survive this recession without Washington getting in the way. Is the health care fury really about race?

By Bob L.   I was wondering when race was coming.
March 30,2010

Is the health care about race?
Yes it is about race, a race Obama, and the Democrats are in to cram this Government, yes GOVERNMENT health care down every ones throat no matter who you are, and TAX oh I mean FINE every one so they can cover, abortion, and Illegals
.

But if you really want the truth it is about controlling the American people, if you don’t think so look at the food they are pushing, or what you can eat, and what you are going to cook your food in, if that is not taking control, then what do call it.

Liberal columnist Frank Rich argues that the Tea Party’s anger stems from “losing their country” to minorities — and has little to do with health care reform. Is he right?

THE WEEK Publications,

March 29, 2010

The furious conservative backlash against health care reform has little to do with health care, says New York Times columnist Frank Rich. The “unglued firestorm of homicidal rhetoric” — and worse — is a reaction by the “virtually all white” Tea Party to an ever-less-white America. The grassroots activists would have been angry at any major law our “black president and a female speaker of the House” enacted, Rich argues. Is he right — or is he misplaying the race card? Social Security love if you don’t pay in to it!

A comment made by hoboparty.com has been going on for many years, but some did what they were suppose to left it alone, then there were some who saw it a bank account for foreign charity and for their pork jobs, and we can not for get, they also pay it to people who have never payed one dime in to it.

Back Post on march 14: Social Security to start cashing Uncle Sam’s IOUs

( comment ) We’re supposed to keep working until we drop dead. That is the new government solution to funding social security money “borrowed” from the depositors. Seems the congressional hollering about not investing our money in wild schemes with social security money was a lie. They didn’t want anyone to see that congress already used every dollar of our retirement money themselves!

WASHINGTON – Rarely does the government, that big, clumsy, poorly regarded oaf, pull off anything short of war that touches all lives with one act, one stroke of a president’s pen. Such a moment now seems near.

After a year of riotous argument, decades of failure and a century of spoiled hopes, the United States is reaching for a system of medical care that extends coverage nearly to all citizens. The change that’s coming, if Sunday’s tussle in the House goes President Barack Obama’s way, would reshape a sixth of the economy and shatter the status quo.

To the ardent liberal, Obama’s health care plan is a shadow of what should have been, sapped by dispiriting downsizing and trade-offs.

To the loud foe on the right, it is a dreadful expansion of the nanny state. Continue reading

Raucous, ugly buildup to House health care vote

By Bob L.
If this is passed what next are they going to try and take away and criminalize to where they can throw you in jail and fine you.

If you let them get away with this you are going to see another KENT STATE where they will bring in the military as a police force to enforce new laws that they have passed to further destroy the CONSTITUTION and control what you can do, if you can not see this is what they are doing then you are pretty stupid, and why is Obama spending so much time in Europe???

WASHINGTON – House Democrats heard it all Saturday — words of inspiration from President Barack Obama and raucous chants of protests from demonstrators. And at times it was flat-out ugly, including some racial epithets aimed at black members of Congress.

Most of the day’s important work leading up to Sunday’s historic vote on health care was being done behind closed doors. Democratic leaders cajoled, bargained and did what they could to nail down the votes they will need to finally push Obama’s health care overhaul bill through the House.

But much else about the day was noisy, emotional and right out in the open. After more than a year debating the capstone of Obama’s domestic agenda and just hours to go before the showdown vote, there was little holding back.

The tone was set outside the Capitol. Clogging the sidewalks and streets of Capitol Hill were at least hundreds — no official estimate was yet available — of loud, furious protesters, many of them tea party opponents of the health care overhaul.

Rallies outside the Capitol are typically orderly, with speeches and well-behaved crowds. Saturday’s was different, with anger-fueled demonstrators surrounding members of Congress who walked by, yelling at them.

“Kill the bill,” the largely middle-aged crowd shouted, surging toward lawmakers who crossed the street between their office buildings and the Capitol.

The motorcade that carried Obama to Capitol Hill to whip up support for the bill drove past crowds waving signs that read “Stop the spending” and “Get your hands out of my pocketbook and health care.” Many booed and thrust their thumbs down as Obama rode by.

As police held demonstrators back to clear areas for lawmakers outside the Capitol Obama’s speech, some protesters jeered and chanted at the officers, “You work for us.”

Rep. Andre Carson, D-Ind., told a reporter that as he left the Cannon House Office Building with Rep. John Lewis, D-Ga., a leader of the civil rights era, some among the crowd chanted “the N-word, the N-word, 15 times.” Both Carson and Lewis are black, and Lewis spokeswoman Brenda Jones also said that it occurred.

“It was like going into the time machine with John Lewis,” said Carson, a large former police officer who said he wasn’t frightened but worried about the 70-year-old Lewis, who is twice his age. “He said it reminded him of another time.”

Kristie Greco, spokeswoman for Democratic Whip Jim Clyburn, D-S.C., said a protester spit on Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, D-Mo., who is black and said police escorted the lawmakers into the Capitol. Cleaver’s office said he would decline to press charges, but Sgt. Kimberly Schneider of the U.S. Capitol Police said in an e-mail later: “We did not make any arrests today.”

Clyburn, who led fellow black students in integrating South Carolina’s public facilities a half century ago, called the behavior “absolutely shocking.”

“I heard people saying things today that I have not heard since March 15, 1960, when I was marching to try to get off the back of the bus,” Clyburn told reporters.

Inside House office buildings, protesters made their views known by visiting lawmakers’ offices and chanting at legislators walking by.

Among the demonstrators was Delane Stewart, 65, of Cookeville, Tenn., who had come with her husband, Jesse.

“You know what’s coming next if this happens?” she said, referring to the health bill’s passage. “They’re going to come after gun control.”

Retired businessman Randy Simpson, 67, of Seneca, S.C., also said the health bill was just a first step.

“My concerns are about the health care bill, and the direction it takes us is toward communism, quite frankly,” he said.

At a daylong meeting of the House Rules Committee, members of both parties squeezed into a tiny hearing room traded accusations in a session that was often a shouting match.

“You all in the minority know what the American people think,” Rep. Alcee Hastings, D-Fla., said loudly and mockingly at Republicans repeatedly saying the public overwhelmingly opposes Obama’s health care bill.

Rep. Joe Barton, R-Texas, said a tricky voting procedure Democrats had been contemplating “corrupts and prostitutes the system” and would “unleash a cultural war in this country.”

Obama’s Capitol Hill visit was the day’s emotional peak for House Democrats as he sought to energize them to finally approve the legislation.

He conceded that it could be tough for some to vote for the bill, but predicted it would end up being politically smart because once it becomes law people will realize they like its provisions like curbs on insurance companies.

“It is in your hands,” the president said in what Clyburn later called the best speech he’d ever heard Obama make. “It is time to pass health care reform for America, and I am confident that you are going to do it tomorrow.”

Raines’ Attack on Fox News Off-Base

By Bob L.

I agree that every one see the news in different ways, but they should be telling the news as it comes, not cover it up because of who it is, a good example, why is it that Fox news is the only one that was telling the news as it came out and not cover it up with sports or some other news, and for the papers they buried it on the back pages, that is not telling the people what is happening in our Government cover ups. this gos even to the local news they were not tell the people what was going on until fox started getting viewers to watch to find out what was going on, then the rest did not want to get left behind, or started to go with the Democrats and saying that fox was lying, well that is just like the election they covered Obama more then they did any one else, does that tell you some thing, they were one sided and did not care who else was running, and that still is going on now on this Obamacare.

Former New York Times Executive Editor Howell Raines is shocked, shocked that Fox News isn’t tarred and feathered by journalists the nation over for its perceived biases.

How dare Bill O’Reilly and company knock President Barack Obama off-message regarding healthcare reform? Or hold him accountable, for that matter.

Raines took to The Washington Post’s op-ed pages over the weekend to blast the 24-hour news channel for “a campaign [against Obama] without precedent in our modern political history.” Continue reading

My Healthcare Plan

Ann Coulter

By Ann Coulter
03/17/2010

Liberals keep complaining that Republicans don’t have a plan for reforming health care in America. I have a plan!

It’s a one-page bill creating a free market in health insurance. Let’s all pause here for a moment so liberals can Google the term “free market.”

Nearly every problem with health care in this country — apart from trial lawyers and out-of-date magazines in doctors’ waiting rooms — would be solved by my plan.

In the first sentence, Congress will amend the McCarran-Ferguson Act to allow interstate competition in health insurance.

We can’t have a free market in health insurance until Congress eliminates the antitrust exemption protecting health insurance companies from competition. If Democrats really wanted to punish insurance companies, which they manifestly do not, they’d make insurers compete. Continue reading

Will the Democrats “Self Execute” on Healthcare Reform?

By Bob L.
politician animationWelcome to the NEW United States where the people let the Government become a very corrupt and became DICTATORS, and where they took away the freedoms that Americans once had because the people only listen to people who were only out for their own capital gain, just like this CAP & TAX.

You have these yuppies who went to collage who were brain washed, and now they think that they know it all and most of them no nothing of street smarts or what makes this country great, all they care is how much money will they make, just like one student that they talked to said that if they set a standard on what a doctor could make then she was wasting her time to become a doctor, now does it not sound like that is all today’s society cares about, and not to keep this Country free from a DICTATOR Country, well I have news for you it is days away from it right now if you let this Government pass a very COSTLY bill with out even voting on it, or fining you $500.00 dollars if you don’t fill out your census and sending it in, does this sound like a free Country.

Another thing I don’t like about this census is a question asking, is your race, I am my self white, but I see it this way, when you ask that question I see it as racist, because they are grouping people by race and not as a U.S. citizen, because then they are saying that not all people are created equal, and I believe in the CONSTITUTION.

This year, they are trying to pass the health care bill without voting on it.

Yes, you read that correctly. Continue reading

Social Security to start cashing Uncle Sam’s IOUs

Bob L.people_32.gif (9824 bytes)
This is a typical day in our Government offices, that same thing go s for all these yuppies that are brainwashed into believing that Social Security is going broke so they will put their money in stocks so it will help their buddies on wall street, look at the ones that had their retirement money in stocks, look where they are today after 2008, most have to start all over again before they can retire.

This is what I have been saying all along, they have been giving this money out in to people who have never payed into it, and their pet projects, so look where they stand today, and now they are trying to tell you how to educate your kids.

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. – The retirement nest egg of an entire generation is stashed away in this small town along the Ohio River: $2.5 trillion in IOUs from the federal government, payable to the Social Security Administration.

It’s time to start cashing them in.

For more than two decades, Social Security collected more money in payroll taxes than it paid out in benefits — billions more each year. Continue reading
