Repeal of legislative immunity proposed in Arizona
By Bob L.
Sun.01-22-2012
Now, by the way the law is written today about Immunity, it should be Eliminated all the way around, U.S. and Foreign.
I feel it is not fair to people here and abroad to have to worry about some one getting off for a crime that others are being prosecuted for, and that is all crimes, from Misdemeanors to Felonies, NO ONE SHOULD BE EXEMPT FROM THE LAW, that also includes Leaders of Countries.

Obama Administration Ignores Voter Intimidation
The Voting Rights Act is very clear. It prohibits any “attempt to intimidate, threaten or coerce” any voter or those aiding voters.

Imagine if Ku Klux Klan members had stood menacingly in military uniforms, with nightsticks, in front of a polling place. Add to it that they had hurled racial threats and insults at voters who tried to enter.
Now suppose that the government, backed by a nationally televised video of the event, had won a court case against the Klansmen except for the perfunctory filing of a single, simple document — but that an incoming Republican administration had moved to voluntarily dismiss the already-won case. Taxing Times Are Here Again
By Neil Cavuto
By You know what startles me about talking taxes in Washington? So few are — at least there.
Not a single prominent Democrat rejected Senator Kent Conrad’s idea of a value-added tax — on top of an income tax, on top of an even higher top income tax, on top of an *even higher top income tax*, on top of *that* tax.
No one made a big deal of that. I guess because no one’s really surprised by that. After all, when you’re spending like crazy, it only makes sense you try to keep up, “taxing” like crazy. Even though I guess I’m crazy for reporting it. Read more

Sen. Richard Shelby said Friday the government should have allowed the marketplace to decide General Motors’ fate and that the huge federal stake in the company puts Washington on “the road to socialism.”
Shelby, ranking Republican on the Banking Committee, argued that the financially beleaguered GM could have saved “lots of money” if it had chosen six months ago to file a Chapter 11 bankruptcy petition. “What I worry about” is Washington’s large interest in the company, the senator said in a nationally broadcast network interview. “It’s basically going to be a government-owned, government-run company … a company that has been sadly run into the ground.” (Read “Government Motors: Can a Reinvention Save GM?”) Read more
New ID rules begin June 1
By MANUEL VALDES, Associated Press Writer Sat May 30, 3:23 pm ET
BLAINE, Wash. – New rules requiring passports or new high-tech documents to cross the United States’ northern and southern borders are taking effect Monday, as some rue the tightening of security and others hail it as long overdue.
The rules are being implemented nearly eight years after the Sept. 11 attacks and long after the 9/11 Commission recommended the changes. They were delayed by complaints from state officials who worried the restrictions would hinder the flow of people and commerce and affect border towns dependent on international crossings. Read more

Obama’s plan to save GM, $30 billion

Obama’s speech that shafts many
Obama made a good speech about how this bankruptcy is a good thing for America, but has any one thought about the loss of credit that is being lost due to loss of foreclosures and jobs. American people just can’t go out and print money when they need it like the government does, if we did we would go to prison, they keep telling us we are spending money we don’t have.
He also said that they were going to buy their cars, now what is that going to do for FORD who did not take any money, some one said that now that the Government would buy cars for their fleet cheaper then ford could bid on, and now that is what is happening, so now that Obama want’s to punish ford, boycott G M, and CHRYSLER, and tell Obama that he has to buy from all three, or none at all.
Where does he think that people today can afford the price of today’s cars now or later.
All I can see is that banks and finance companies are going to profit due to credit reports from the economy of today, and the peoples loss.
All I can see is the same thing that they are all lies,he has not been truthful to the American from day one,for he has flip flopped and can not tell the truth if his life depended on it. He is fallowing in the same steps as Bush, and only helping the rich and him self and family. Read more

Key health care senators have industry ties
By LARRY MARGASAK and SHARON THEIMER, Associated Press Writers
WASHINGTON – Influential senators working to overhaul the nation’s health care system have investments and family ties with some of the biggest names in the industry. The wife of Sen. Chris Dodd, the lawmaker in charge of writing the Senate’s bill, sits on the boards of four health care companies.
Members of both parties have industry connections, including Democrats Jay Rockefeller and Tom Harkin, in addition to Dodd, and Republicans Tom Coburn, Judd Gregg, John Kyl and Orrin Hatch, financial reports showed Friday. .
Jackie Clegg Dodd, wife of the Connecticut Democrat, is on the boards of Javelin Pharmaceuticals Inc., Cardiome Pharma Corp., Brookdale Senior Living and Pear Tree Pharmaceuticals.
Dodd is filling in for ailing Sen. Edward Kennedy, D-Mass., chairman of the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, which will soon start work on a health care bill.
Other publicly available documents show Mrs. Dodd last year was one of the most highly compensated non-employee members of the Javelin Pharmaceuticals Inc. board, on which she has served since 2004. Health Care Overhaul, Calls System ‘Ticking Bomb
President Obama tells the American Medical Association in Chicago that the existing system leaves too many Americans uninsured and forces “excessive defensive medicine” by doctors worried about malpractice lawsuits.
![]()
CHICAGO — President Barack Obama pushed hard Monday for a health care overhaul, saying the system is “a ticking bomb” for the budget that could force America to “go the way of GM” without a legislative fix.
Obama went before the American Medical Association in Chicago to declare anew that the existing system leaves too many uninsured and forces “excessive defensive medicine” by doctors worried about malpractice suits. He also declared once again that he does not favor socialized medicine and cautioned people to beware of “scare tactics and fear-mongering” by critics who make this claim.
Obama did tell his audience of physicians and health care professionals that he’s “open” to requiring all Americans to have health insurance, while stressing that the plan would permit continuing assistance for those who cannot afford it on their own. Read more
Fire Ants Almost Kill 13-Year-Old Boy
CENTRAL, La. — Fire ants are the scourge of the Louisiana lawn, but their venomous stings can be as dangerous as those from bees, ants or wasps. Patrick Dodson, 13, and his mother, Donna Dodson, learned that one Sunday afternoon in March while doing yard work at their Central home.
Patrick Dodson fetched a bag of mulch made from a tree blown down by Hurricane Gustav in September. It tore open as he headed to the flower beds, and his leg was covered in hundreds of ants.
“Once I noticed them, I kind of freaked out, and that’s when they started biting me,” he said. “It didn’t really hurt until 10 minutes afterward.”
Most people call them bites, and fire ants often do anchor themselves with a bite — but it’s the sting that hurts. And, unlike bees or wasps, each ant can sting many times.
Patrick’s mother washed the ants off his leg, applied an antihistamine cream and sent her mother, Alice Reine, to the store for a liquid antihistamine. Read more
15 D.C. power couples
POLITICO: Kenneth P. Vogel
There’s only one first couple, but Barack and Michelle Obama are hardly the only powerful pair in Washington.
The new administration is staffed by an especially large contingent of power couples.
Here are 15 of them:
Shere Abbott and James Steinberg
These connected Beltway insiders ironically spent most of former President George W. Bush’s second term in his home state of Texas, where Steinberg was dean of the public affairs school at the University of Texas and Abbott directed the university’s sustainability program.
But Steinberg, 56, who was a national security adviser in the Clinton administration, kept in the game, advising the Obama campaign and transition on foreign policy issues. In December, he was nominated to be the No. 2 official at the State Department.
Abbott, 53, was tapped in March to handle environmental and energy policy in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.
They married in 1994 and have two young daughters they adopted from China.

TOLEDO, Ohio – Residents of Toledo, Ohio, are complaining that they received $25 tickets for parking their vehicles in their own driveways.
Mayor Carty Finkbeiner (FINK’-by-ner) says he stands by the citations handed out last week by the Division of Streets, Bridges and Harbor. He says the tickets were issued under a city law against parking on unpaved surfaces, including gravel driveways.
During a news conference Monday, Finkbeiner ignored a reporter’s question of whether the crackdown and fines were related to the city’s budget crisis.
The three-term mayor faces a recall vote in November. Critics have claimed he’s wasted city money.
City Councilman D. Michael Collins calls the ticketing “Mickey Mouse nonsense.” He has told residents he’ll try to have the citations rescinded.
Health care for all will take years
WASHINGTON – HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius says covering the uninsured will take several years, even if Congress passes a bill and President Barack Obama signs it into law this fall.
Sebelius said in a question-and-answer session with The Associated Press Tuesday that “it won’t start the day after the bill passes.”
Nearly 50 million Americans are uninsured, and early cost estimates of congressional coverage plans have been disappointing. The $1 trillion over 10 years that the Obama administration wants to spend may not be enough.
Sebelius said the first step would be to cover people who are eligible for existing government programs. She said after that, it could take until 2011 or 2012 to set up insurance purchasing pools and start covering the rest.

Obama Under Fire Again From Members of His Own Party

Out of Sight, Out of Mind
Some Congressional Democrats representing rural America are feeling left out when it comes to the President Obama’s ambitious agenda. The Politico newspaper reports from greenhouse gases and climate legislation, to the closing of hundreds of car dealerships, many within his party aren’t exactly feeling the love from the White House.
California Congressman Dennis Cardoza says, “They don’t get rural America. They form their views of the world in large cities.”
Louisiana Senator Mary Landrieu adds: “I wouldn’t say it’s a complete strikeout, but they’ve just got a few more bases to it when it comes to the rural community.”
And Arkansas Senator Blanche Lincoln complains the president has not paid much attention to rural states since his campaign ended, saying: “We’d love to see him out in rural America more.”

SEAN HANNITY, HOST: Now tonight we bring you a special first segment of the show in lieu of our usual “Hannity Headline.”
In 1765 parliament passed the Stamp Pact provoking outrage among the American colonists. Now the leaders of the tax uprising were the Sons of Liberty who met in August of 1765 under an old elm tree in Boston to air their grievances against the tyrannical King George.
The Sons of Liberty will become an early voice for the rights of an oppressed citizenry and included some familiar names from the annals of American history including Paul Revere, Patrick Henry, John Hancock and John Adams.
At the end of that first protest in 1765 the Sons of Liberty hung two tax collectors in effigy from the branches of elm and from that day forward it became known as the Liberty Tree.
Chemicals in Marijuana Smoke May Harm DNA
HealthDay
FRIDAY, June 19 (HealthDay News) — The smoke from cannabis, the plant from which marijuana is derived, contains compounds that can damage DNA and increase the risk of cancer just like tobacco smoke, says a new study from the United Kingdom.
In laboratory tests, Rajinder Singh from the University of Leicester and colleagues found certain carcinogens in cannabis smoke in amounts 50 percent greater than those found in tobacco smoke. They noted that light cannabis use could possibly prove to be even more damaging because cannabis smokers usually inhale more deeply than cigarette smokers.
“The smoking of three to four cannabis cigarettes a day is associated with the same degree of damage to bronchial mucus membranes as 20 or more tobacco cigarettes a day,” the researchers noted in a news release from the university.
The research was based on tests using a new highly sensitive liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry method to analyze the cannabis smoke. It looked specifically at acetaldehyde — a suspected cancer-causing chemical known to affect human DNA that is found in both kinds of smoke.
“These results provide evidence for the DNA-damaging potential of cannabis smoke, implying that the consumption of cannabis cigarettes may be detrimental to human health with the possibility to initiate cancer development,” the researchers concluded in their report, published in the June 15 issue of Chemical Research in Toxicology.

Pets Pass Superbug to Humans
Posted: 21 June 2009: By LiveScience Staff
Transmission of an infectious superbug from dogs and cats to humans, and back again, is an increasing problem, a new study finds.
The superbug, a strain of bacteria known as MRSA, has evolved a resistance to antibiotics. It has long plagued hospitals but in recent years has become more common in homes. MRSA has even invaded beaches.
Only about two years ago, scientists began to seriously suspect pets were transmitting the bacteria.
In the July edition of The Lancet Infectious Diseases, Richard Oehler of the University of South Florida College of Medicine and colleagues lay out the latest thinking on MRSA (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) and pets.
The infections can be transmitted by animal bites and most threaten young children, the researchers note. Read more
Do you agree???
By Bob L What I have seen this happening for 58 years, I am now 65.
When you were growing up, do you remember when you could go out in the summer and get a job, working in a gas station, pick berries, or lets say, work on farms and in the fields, be a box person in a grocery store to earn money for school, and have spending money.
Can you remember why kids can no longer get a summer job, and now only illegals can have those jobs, because they can’t get the blacks any more as slaves so the illegals are now the slaves, or the kids and the family to make some extra money, or get vegetables and berries for canning. Today how many know how to can products for the winter, or fix a meal from scratch.
Well it was a special interest group that did not think it was safe for kids to work in the fields, (so the greedy Government stepped in) but yet it was alright if they were 16 and HAD a WORK PERMIT, (money, not getting taxes, gee Government greed again) then it was safe. Just because they did not pay income, they did pay sales tax, but the problem was they did not get a double tax, that is the problem today, TO MANY TAXES ON TAXES, to PAY TAXES. Read more

Catastrophe

Every patriotic American needs to stand up now and take America back from President Obama, say Dick Morris and Eileen McGann — before he fully implements his frighteningly radical political agenda. That socialist agenda, they reveal, threatens our liberty, endangers our livelihood, and jeopardizes our very safety and security. They explain why in Catastrophe: How Obama, Congress, and the Special Interests are Transforming… A Downturn into a Crash, a Recession into a Depression, and a Disaster into a CATASTROPHE…And How to Stop Them.

Obama’s teleprompter breaks in mid-speech

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama had just started a spirited defense of his economic stimulus plan on Monday when one of his teleprompter screens came loose, crashed to the floor and shattered into pieces.
The gadget’s fall surprised Obama, who uses a teleprompter during most speeches and even brief remarks. The glass plate displaying his speech hit the floor in the auditorium of the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, a massive building within the White House compound.
“Oh, goodness,” Obama said. “Sorry about that, guys.”
The audience — administration officials, mayors and urban policy experts — laughed as Obama went back to his text. To finish his 11-minute remarks calling for a new policy toward the nation’s cities and metropolitan areas, he used notes and the remaining teleprompter screen.

MEXICO CITY — U.S. refineries bought millions of dollars worth of oil stolen from Mexican government pipelines and smuggled across the border, the U.S. Justice Department told The Associated Press — illegal operations now led by Mexican drug cartels expanding their reach.
Criminals — mostly drug gangs — tap remote pipelines, sometimes building pipelines of their own, to siphon off hundreds of millions of dollars worth of oil each year, the Mexican oil monopoly said. At least one U.S. oil executive has pleaded guilty to conspiracy in such a deal.
On Tuesday, the U.S. Homeland Security department is scheduled to return $2.4 million to Mexico’s tax administration, .. Read more

Ezekiel Emanuel, Obama’s ‘Deadly Doctor,’ Strikes Back
TIMES By Michael Scherer / Washington Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2009
Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, the medical ethicist and oncologist who advises President Obama, does not own a television, and if you catch him in a typically energized moment, when his mind speeds even faster than his mouth, he is likely to blurt out something like, “I hate the Internet.” So it took him several days in late July to discover he had been singled out by opponents of health-care reform as a “deadly doctor,” who, according to an opinion column in the New York Post, wanted to limit medical care for “a grandmother with Parkinson’s or a child with cerebral palsy
“I couldn’t believe this was happening to me,” says Emanuel, who in addition to spending his career opposing euthanasia and working to increase the quality of care for dying patients, … Read more
Nancy Pelosi’s plan: Wine, dine big donors
POLITICO 8/6/09: By JOHN BRESNAHAN
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi moves in a rarefied world of high society and high-level politics — and nothing underscores that fact quite like her plans for the August recess.
Pelosi will spend next weekend quietly tending to top party donors and political allies at a series of private events in Northern California.
The two-day “issues conference” starts next Friday night with a dinner for roughly 170 guests on the back lawn of Pelosi’s multimillion-dollar home in the fashionable Pacific Heights neighborhood in San Francisco.
The following day, Pelosi will shepherd her guests to a Napa Valley winery with buildings designed by world-famous architect Frank Gehry; the speaker and her husband, investor Paul Pelosi, own a nearby vineyard worth between $5 million and $25 million, according to her annual financial disclosure report. Dirty Secret No. 1 in Obamacare
08/11/2009
Health care reforms are turning into health care revolts. Americans are turning up the heat on congressmen in town hall meetings across the U.S.
While watching these political hot August nights, I decided to research the reasons so many are opposed to Obamacare to separate the facts from the fantasy. What I discovered is that there are indeed dirty little secrets buried deep within the 1,000-plus page health care bill.
Dirty secret No. 1 in Obamacare is about the government’s coming into homes and usurping parental rights over child care and development.
It’s outlined in sections 440 and 1904 of the House bill (Page 838), … Read more

Just as the left pioneered “AstroTurf” protesters — homeless people lured to demonstrations with the offer of a free T-shirt and a box lunch — liberals have also specialized in producing fake “insiders” denouncing their alleged group.
There were the “winter soldiers” — fake Vietnam veterans claiming to have personally disemboweled babies in Vietnam. It took 30 years and the publication of the book “Stolen Valor” to establish that the bulk of them were utter frauds who had never seen combat — some had never seen Vietnam. (Shockingly, to this day, the Wikipedia entry on the winter soldiers treats their phony war records as legitimate.)

GOP backs away from end-of-life counseling
![]()
By BEN EVANS, Associated Press Writer – Fri Aug 14
WASHINGTON – Until last week, Republican Sen. Johnny Isakson was among the most enthusiastic backers of end-of-life counseling in government health care programs like Medicare.
That was before conservatives called it a step toward euthanasia and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin likened the idea to a bureaucratic “death panel” that would decide whether sick people get to live. And even though those claims have been widely discredited, the issue remains a political weapon in the increasingly bitter health care debate.
Now, Isakson and other Republicans who eagerly backed the idea are distancing themselves from it or lying low in the face of a backlash from the right. Read more
No ‘death panel’ in health care bill
![]()
By RICARDO ALONSO-ZALDIVAR, Associated Press Writer – Tue Aug 11
WASHINGTON – Former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin says the health care overhaul bill would set up a “death panel.” Federal bureaucrats would play God, ruling on whether ailing seniors are worth enough to society to deserve life-sustaining medical care. Palin and other critics are wrong.
Nothing in the legislation would carry out such a bleak vision. The provision that has caused the uproar would instead authorize Medicare to pay doctors for counseling patients about end-of-life care, if the patient wishes. Here are some questions and answers on the controversy:
Q: Does the health care legislation bill promote “mercy killing,” or euthanasia?
A: No.
Q: Then what’s all the fuss about? Read more
It’s pure myth: There’s no ‘death panel’ in health care legislation
Why don’t they just be up front and honest with the American people instead of doing every thing behind closed doors, or is it that if they were up front it would show that they did not know what they were doing, so they lie thinking that Americans are stupid, and don’t know any better.

WASHINGTON — The “death panel” rumor about health care reform lives stubbornly on in spite of debunking from sources ranging from AARP to a Republican senator who pushed for Medicare coverage of end-of-life counseling.
Lawmakers are still fielding questions from constituents deeply concerned that House proposals would set up death panels to decide if the disabled or elderly are worthy of health care — or if they should be shuttled off for euthanasia. Read more

Americans have a right and an obligation to be angry. We just need to be sure our anger is aimed at the right target.

1. On the 9/11 National Day of Service issue.
Background HERE – the short version is that the administration is in the process of rebranding 9/11 as a National Day of Service. I note that 9/12 makes a good deal more thematic sense, but then everything that you really need to know about the actual intent can be seen, as usual, by some of the players involved . . . Please click here for the rest of the post.
2. Can the Economy be Restored by Destroying Perfectly Good Cars? Obama Thinks So. Cash For Clunkers in Action
Thanks to the glories of YouTube, we can watch as the government mandates the destruction of perfectly good automobiles to “help the economy.” Here is a very nice 1990s Dodge Dakota 4X4 being destroyed. It is a much better vehicle than my pick up truck. Really, you ought to look at at least a couple of these videos, and the hundreds more like them on YouTube. Are these “clunkers?” Can it really help the economy to destroy perfectly good assets? Are the people running the government the most economically illiterate bunch since FDR ruled the roost? Or are they dumber? Please click here for the rest of the post.
3. Barack Obama’s Worst Nightmare
It was not until after 1994 that Bill Clinton really stretched his legs. As much as Clinton had “gays in the military” and “Hillarycare” in the months before the Republican take over of Congress, he’s really known for what? Well, if we’re serious about his legacy — Kosovo, Welfare Reform, Standing Up to Newt, and Impeachment. Clinton shines as a model of what a Democratic Presidency can be when fighting against Republicans at home and in multinational coalitions abroad. Impeachment has a mixed meaning for him, but among Democrats and Independents, they typically see it as out of control Republicans and a philandering President with the President coming out looking better than the GOP. Republicans controlling Congress gave Bill Clinton a political opposition from which he could set himself a part. Clinton could be contrasted with the GOP. He could not, pre-1994, viably do that because his party controlled the White House and Congress. What is Barack Obama’s worst nightmare? Democrats keeping Congress in 2010. Please click here for the rest of the post.
4. Perry for Texas. Hutchison for Washington.
In 2010, Texans either will lead the nation forward according to conservative principle and under conservative leadership, or they will put their trust and faith in the ways of Washington. In the last several weeks, current Texas Governor Rick Perry and U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison – each vying for the Texas Governorship in 2010 – have each made significant public statements that make their positions crystal clear. Perry is for Texas. Hutchison is for Washington. Please click here for the rest of the post.
5. Current DSCC national finance chair arrested for bank fraud.
Hassan Nemazee was more recently a heavy donor and bundler for both the Clinton and Obama Presidential campaigns, bringing in over half a million for the new President; he was also a major bundler for the Presidential Inaugural. “U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara in Manhattan and the Federal Bureau of Investigations say Hassan Nemazee, with residences in Manhattan and Katonah, N.Y., fraudulently applied for the loans for Nemazee Capital Corp., of which he is chairman and chief executive.” Please click here for the rest of the post.
6. Gray-beard Liberal compares Obama to Carter, while Sen. Feingold Predicts No Health Care Bill by Christmas
The degree of the political problem that President Obama’s “damn the torpedoes, full steam ahead,” approach to health care reform has caused the ruling party in Washington, D.C. is beginning to become clear from some comments made by cognoscenti of the Democratic Party. A gray-beard of the liberal establishment, Richard Cohen, wrote today in the Washington Post that the most apt comparison to President Obama is President Jimmy Carter. Ouch! Please click here for the rest of the post.
7. Democrats Begin Eating Their Own
It was only a matter of time before it started. The Democrats are beginning to turn on each other as their poll numbers sink and Republicans’ numbers start to rise. John Adler (D, NJ) says the healthcare legislation is bad for America. And he doesn’t care whether there’s a public option in it or not. But it’s not just Adler. Seriously endangered Democrat Parker Griffith of Alabama believes Nancy Pelosi is too divisive to be Speaker. . . . Please click here for the rest of the post.
8. Chris Carney (D-PA) Hints at Wanting Socialized Medicine In a Moment of Loosened Lips
Brian Faughnan noted the other day that up until this year Democrats have been pretty open that the “public option” was intended to be a back door into universal socialized healthcare. Barney Frank, too, has pretty strongly hinted at that. Up in Pennsylvania, Chris Carney, a liberal Democrat who tries his best to seem moderate, kind of sort of let slip in a town hall that, in fact, he favors the full socialization of the American healthcare system and views the public option as a back door to universal healthcare. U.S. executive pensions rose in ’08 even as stocks fell: report
In the face of the American worker as usual.
_________________________________________________
: Mon Nov 2
NEW YORK (Reuters) – Pensions for top U.S. executive rose by an average of 19 percent last year, and more than 200 officers saw their retirement savings surge by as much as 50 percent, even as their companies stock prices fell, the Wall Street Journal reported on Monday.
Pensions rose as a result of generous formulas and some little-scrutinized techniques, such as changes in age or interest rates used in calculations, the paper said, citing an analysis of filings from 340 Standard & Poor’s 500 companies.
And with the public outraged over lavish pay and big bonuses, the Journal on its website said pensions rose even as stock prices dropped by an average of 37 percent last year. Yet supplemental executive retirement plans, or SERPs, are mostly overlooked.
The chief executive of Merck & Co (MRK.N) saw his pension benefit rise by nearly $10 million to $21.7 million last year. Certain incentive payments for ConocoPhillips (COP.N) CEO Jim Mulva boosted bis pension by $9.5 million to $68.2 million, the paper said.
The top executives at General Electric (GE.N) saw the amounts they were due from pensions rise by 13 percent to $140.7 million, the Journal said.

In a tortured academic dissertation, Bernanke explicitly denied any Fed culpability for inflating the housing bubble and for the financial crisis that began when it burst. A different kind of Olympic drama: Foreclosure

The Whistler-Blackcombe resort, where the Alpine events such as snowboarding and ski-jumping are being held, could go into foreclosure this week, smack dab in the middle of the Olympics, and be owned in part by the now defunct Lehman Brothers, one of its creditors.
Whistler Blackcombe is one of several ski resort properties owned by Intrawest. Others include Steamboat and Stratton. The company is in deep financial straits and missed a debt payment of more than $500 million in December. The lenders have given Intrawest a deadline of this Friday to come up with the money, or they say they will foreclose.
Intrawest is owned by Fortress Investments, a well known, private equity firm and hedge fund, which bought Intrawest in a leveraged buyout in 2006 for $2.8 billion. The rationale for the investment was that condo sales slopeside would provide cash to pay back the $1.7 billion in debt they took on as a result of the deal. Then the real estate market collapsed.
The CEO of Fortress, Dan Mudd, was on CNBC and acknowledged Intrawest is having a tough time with the real estate sales, but that the on-slope operations of the business – lift tickets, etc. – are doing better. He says they want to manage their way through the crisis and realize the full value of the investment. He said negotiations are ongoing right now with the creditors.
Resort investments have been particularly hard hit in the economic downturn. On Tuesday, East West Resort Development, owner of various luxury ski resorts and a Jack Nicklaus golf course near Lake Tahoe, filed for bankruptcy.
States must fill $1 trillion pension gap

A good example, a private company sends out FOUR workers, to where the Government sends out EIGHT to TEN workers to do the same job, now why are taxes so high, (when some are making $45.00 dollars an hour or more.) What’s Wrong With Racial Profiling Anyway?
By A.W.R. Hawkins
05/06/2010
On April 23, Republican Gov. Jan Brewer signed an immigration bill that outlaws illegal immigration in Arizona. The bill’s passage allows state law enforcement personnel to arrest and deport illegal immigrants instead of continuing the practice of capturing them, then helplessly watching federal agencies drop the ball on deportation.
Because this law should bring a new level of scrutiny and profiling to bear on Mexicans who have crossed the border illegally, Democrats, “human rights activists,” Hispanic PACs, and the Rev. Al Sharpton are all shouting “racism” from the rooftops. Sharpton, in particular, is promoting a boycott of Arizona and is promising to take his posse there to demonstrate in the streets.
Even Fox News’ Shepherd Smith sarcastically referred to the new legislation the “driving while Latino” law.
But the fundamental question none of these groups or individuals appear willing to ask is: “What’s wrong with racial profiling anyway?” It is, after all, a valuable tool in solving cases for law enforcement.
When law enforcement officials are looking for a serial killer, they don’t bother talking to very many females. Nor do they question many blacks, Hispanics, or Middle-Easterners. Why? Because doing so would be an absolute waste of time: They know the overwhelming odds are that the killer is going to be a male who is white, and who either lives alone or lives with his mom. So they look for men who fit that profile rather than wasting their time investigating those who don’t fit the profile. Read more
The FCC grabs power unlawfully to appease a fringe movement
Posted by Neil Stevens
Wednesday, May 5th
I’ve been ill but please bear with me. Today brought some huge news for anyone who conducts business or pleasure on the Internet: The FCC has announced its plans to deem and pass Net Neutrality. Specifically, The FCC will defy a court order to stop regulating the Internet by nonsensically deeming the Internet not to be an information service, and regulate it under Title II of the Communications Act.
That sounds mild but it has disastrous consequences.
Title II of the Communications Act gives the FCC strong and broad powers. If the FCC is allowed to put the Internet in the US under those powers, then the Obama administration will have total power to tax Internet users, regulate content on Internet servers, and even institute price controls on Internet services. Does this sound like it has anything to do with “restoring” anything? I don’t think so.
The fact is, the idea that this “Net Neutrality” plan is anything but a power grab was always a lie being pushed by a couple of sources. The first is Google, which has had ties with the administration from Eric Schmidt himself advising Barack Obama, to Andrew McLaughlin who’s been lobbying for Google from his job as Deputy White House CTO. Google stands to benefit when the FCC passes regulations which favor Internet firms like Google over ISPs.
Part of Google’s drive has been in funding Free Press, a radical fringe group dedicated to the nationalization of all mass media in America. Their neo-Marxist vision is to have people’s state commissars dictating all the news you read in the newspaper, watch on television, and see on the Internet. Obviously, they’ve been pushing hard for deem-and-pass “reclassification” of the Internet under FCC total control
However they’re gradually letting slip how much of a fringe group they really are, despite their “Save the Internet” front group having a long list of names. They can’t even decide how many supporters they want to lie and say they have! Is it 1.7 million, or is it 1.6 million? Oops, maybe it’s just 1.0 million. But now the radically pro-Net Neutrality Cecilia Kang, who runs with stories clearly pushed by Google and Free Press without fact checking them first as seen in the updates, claims Free Press is nowhere near a million, and sits at only half that.
Should the tens of millions of Americans on the Internet, we who make a living or keep in touch with friends and family, have our fate determined by a small band of fringe neo-Marxist radicals, or self-seeking lobbyists at Google? I say no. This matter should be decided in the Congress, where the power is legitimately held to tell the FCC what it can and can’t regulate. And problems people have with their ISPs should be handled in the state legislatures, who have oversight of the local franchise monopolies that govern most cable and DSL Internet in America.
Hands off our Internet, FCC. End the power grab now.

True Veterans Not Phonies
By Bob L.
Wed. June 9, 2010
Tuesday I watched a good program on Public TV and was I impressed with this group they had on as a special, there were four people on there saying they were Veterans who got together, I thought Yaaa right, well after seeing people who miss represent them selves so you will buy their product just to profit, you get to be skeptical, well after watching I was wrong, see for your self, they call them selves 4 Troops, and for what they are doing I do believe they have their heart where it belongs, helping VETERANS.
Today you see so many say that they are veterans, but you check into their back grounds and a lot of them never left the U.S. because of a gold spoon, and then you have some that could not get in but did a lot for our troops, so they could be called a veteran even though they were not on the front lines, but what they did you could say they were on the front lines here at home.
Now you have Veterans that were not on the front lines but were just as much in harms way as if they were on the front lines.
Don’t for get here at home we have others that all so risk their lives every day, SO when it come to these HOLIDAYS don’t for get to honor POLICE and FIRE PERSONAL along with our MILITARY PERSONAL from all branches of military who fight for FREEDOM.

Apparently, Mary Ann Chastain over at Newsweek finally realized that conservative women are being trivialized and sexualized in the media. Imagine that. Nice of the magazine to say something now, since it’s done such a good job defending them up until this point.
The thing is that Chastain seems to have blinders on when it comes to how conservative women have been treated by the media and political circles for years now. This is not a new phenomenon, and it did not begin with Sarah Palin or Nikki Haley or any of the other GOP women currently in the spotlight. Read more
After Job Training, Still Scrambling for a Job

Monday July 19, 2010
In what was beginning to feel like a previous life, Israel Valle had earned $18 an hour as an executive assistant to a designer at a prominent fashion label. Now, he was jobless and struggling to find work. He decided to invest in upgrading his skills.
It was February 2009, and the city work force center in Downtown Brooklyn was jammed with hundreds of people hungry for paychecks. His caseworker urged him to take advantage of classes financed by the federal government, which had increased money for job training. Upgrade your skills, she counseled. Then she could arrange job interviews. Read more
What’s the Difference??????
What is the difference (in the U.S.) between all the Government agencies, the Financial Institutions, and business???
NOTHING, the money is still green to them, and they are still cutting it while the America working is trying to catch the clippings, but the U.S. Governments are burning the clippings before they hit the Ground, (better known as paying it to the rich first.)
What is the Difference between Obama, Democrats, and Obamacare???
NOTHING, they never read it, so they don’t know much it will cost, or what is in it. (That is because they are exempt from it and don’t care how much it will cost.)
What is the differance between Obama and Bush???
NOTHING Bush started the collapse and Obama is finishing it. (It actually started with Clinton, but Bush started the spending.)
What is the Difference between the democrats and the Republicans???
NOTHING, they cheat, lie, and don’t pay their taxes. and don’t go to jail when they break the LAW.
Proud to be an American

2. Making purchases on my department store credit card.
3. When I show up for a doctor’s appointment
4. When filling out a credit card or loan application
5. When applying for or renewing a driver’s license or passport
6. When applying for any kind of insurance
7. When filling out college applications8. When donating blood
9. When obtaining certain prescription drugs
10. When making some debit purchases, especially if I’m out of state

Cleveland Housing Judge Raymond Pianka requiring negligent property owners to pay victim restitution to neighbors
Sandra Livingston, The Plain Dealer
Monday, August 02, 2010
Cleveland Housing Court Judge Raymond Pianka is ratcheting up the costs for absentee owners who spread the damage from the foreclosure crisis. They will have to pay neighbors for economic losses caused by their neglect.
Pianka plans to hold his first restitution hearings on the issue later this month.
The move comes as Cleveland’s lone housing judge contends with the fallout from the foreclosure mess.
A troubling number of homes have become vacant, neglected commodities bought and sold — often by out-of-state companies — for dirt-cheap prices and left to languish. That can undermine safety and nearby property values.

Your request is being processed… Al Sharpton: Glenn Beck Rally Distorts King’s Dream
By Bob L.
Mon./Aug./30/2010
Here we go again, a racist group turning things around again trying to make it sound racist, and that Martin Luther King Jr, and blacks are the only ones that can talk and demonstrate at the Washington Monument, this is why we have the First Amendment.
(“They have a right to rally. But what they don’t have the right do is distort what Dr. King’s dream was about,” the Rev. Al Sharpton declared Friday.)
Look at who is DISTORTING KINGS DREAM, My opinion is every one who keeps throwing out the race card is a disgrace to KING and his Speech, and this shows that they don’t care what he said, and they are doing any thing they can to keep RACISM active. If they really wanted to stop RACISM, they would they would try and help solve the problem, NOT stir up the problems like they do at the drop of the hat.
(Sharpton described the demonstration planned for Saturday by Beck and his supporters as an anti-government rally advocating states’ rights. And he said that goes against the message in King’s famous “I Have a Dream” speech, in which the civil rights leader appealed to the federal government to ensure equality.)
I don’t think King meant that the Federal Government should have full control of this Country, I take it as he was saying that HE wanted to see all Americans walking Hand in Hand, side by side, and not fighting each other, but I do believe the States should have more control over what they do and say in each State, not the Federal Government.
Today the Federal Government thinks that the States don’t have a say in how they run their state, THIS is called A DICTATOR GOVERNMENT.

Scandal-ridden Calif. city must return tax dollars
By Bob L.
How many Cities, Counties, and States are guilty of this today and getting away with it because no one cares.
Here is a good example of what these Elected Officials think of the people who put them in office, or lets put it this way they are only going for these positions so they have the credit card of all taxpayers.
This is what they call identity theft, because our Government agencies have stolen the credit card to pay for their wages or buy some thing to profit from, or buy cars, boats, motorcycles, you can go on, but the average citizen would be behind bars, and this is where all public Officials should be prosecuted, and not get special treatment or pardons, and denied their pensions.

Is there not any pride in this Country any more, all these yuppies want to do is tear apart any thing that has to do with American History, Foreign Countries seem to maintain their History, is that why Americans like to go there so they can see the History of those Countries because they maintain their heritage.

CORDOVA, Ala. – James Ruston’s house was knocked off its foundation by tornadoes that barreled through town last month and is still uninhabitable. He thought help had finally arrived when a truck pulled up to his property with a mobile home from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
Then he got the call: Single-wide mobile homes, like the FEMA one, are illegal in the city of Cordova.
The city’s refusal to let homeless residents occupy temporary housing provided by FEMA has sparked outrage in this central Alabama town of 2,000, with angry citizens filling a meeting last week and circulating petitions to remove the man many blame for the decision, Mayor Jack Scott.
Ruston and many others view the city’s decision as heartless, a sign that leaders don’t care that some people are barely surviving in the rubble of a blue-collar town.
“People have to live somewhere. What’s it matter if it’s in a trailer?” asked Felicia Boston, standing on the debris-strewn lot where a friend has lived in a tent since a tornado destroyed his home on April 27. Read more
States cracks down on unemployment insurance fraud
By Bob L.
07/03/2011
This article is really funny, when I moved to Ohio in 96, Washington State had passed a law that gave state workers full unemployment if they got cut back to 32 hours of work, and then these states talk about unemployment fraud, now who is behind this when Governments protect their own employes with unemployment, I don’t know about now, but if it is still on the books, I would call that state sanctioned unemployment fraud.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — A nationwide crackdown is coming for people fraudulently drawing unemployment payments — those who were never eligible and workers who keep getting checks after they return to work — a $17 billion benefits swindle last year alone, say federal officials.
With the poor economy lingering and the jobless rate remaining high, Rhode Island and other states are stepping up efforts to stop the fraud and improper payments. Read more
WHAT have we LEARNED from the PAST (Part 1)

What have we learned from our Government over the years, well they are doing the same thing that they did in the past, let greed run rampant while stopping small business from getting started.
Lets Look back to the big Great Depression in 1929 to 1940, are we going to repeat History in 2029, they say history repeats its self every 100 years.
How about the leed up to the Great Depression in 1920 to 1921, do they ever talk about this one, NO, and WHY not?

The Forgotten Depression of 1920
By Thomas E. Woods, Jr.
It is a cliché that if we do not study the past we are condemned to repeat it. Almost equally certain, however, is that if there are lessons to be learned from an historical episode, the political class will draw all the wrong ones — and often deliberately so.
Far from viewing the past as a potential source of wisdom and insight, political regimes have a habit of employing history as an ideological weapon, to be distorted and manipulated in the service of present-day ambitions. That’s what Winston Churchill meant when he described the history of the Soviet Union as “unpredictable.” Read more

Years back we had slavery in this country, has any thing changed, you can’t prove it by what I see today, there is still slavery, but to-day it is not just the Colored, Mexicans, Native Americans, or Whites, it is every one who is not a Government Employee, or the rich, it is every one else who are the slaves.
Lets see there was Chinese, Blacks, Native Americans, Whites, lets look at it this way, any one who gets less than $50,000.00 can be classified as a slave, because each year their wages keep going down from taxes and higher prices and see no way of getting a raise, if they do they know that their job is in the process of disappearing.
The problem today, there are to many people out there that don’t want to stop race or racial profiling, any little hiccup they throw out the race card, or they are in there with both feet causing trouble giving every one a bad name, and until then it makes it hard for any one from getting a job, you go in with a chip on your shoulder, you go out with out a job.
Is this what you want your kids doing not trusting any one, and is this how you want to see your kids?????
Every one has to work together and stop fighting and admit that all LEGAL American citizens have to live together or you will be the same as the EAST fighting each other, OVER WHAT, does any one really know, or is what is happening here in this Country, fighting over RACE, but there, RELIGION.

Taken from the article, Democrats did WHAT, NO, that was the Republicans who did that, WHO gave the President a BLANK CHECK, THE DEMOCRATS.
[Before he launched the war on Iraq, he got Democratic Sens. Tom Daschle, Harry Reid, Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, John Edwards and Chris Dodd to give him a blank check. As the Republican Establishment signed on to Clinton's trade deals, the Democratic Establishment signed on to Bush's war.]

(Time 1973) These are pages from the past because people to what has happen in this country and why we are where we are today.
Over the years I have heard people whining about how we don’t do enough for the Foreign Countries, they say that we need to send more aid to the starving Countries when they have a disaster, but how many Foreign Countries have sent Aid to this Country when we have a disaster, and how many Countries have paid the U.S. back for money that they have borrowed from Us.Here is some thing that the American people should live by and stop whining about other Countries when they are in trouble, and remember this, “DO ON TO OTHER THAT THEY ARE DOING TO YOU”!!!!! Look around you, these videos can not put it any better, we are the bank for the world, not America, why do you think we are broke.
The Americans http://youtu.be/hGJynE37Npg
["The Americans" On June 5 1973, Canadian radio commentator Gordon Sinclair delivered a stirring, pro-American editorial. The United States had just pulled out of the Vietnam War which ended in a stalemate - a war fought daily on TV, over radio and in the press. The war had divided the American people, and at home and abroad it seemed everyone was lambasting the United States. Outraged by what he saw and heard that morning, in his noon-hour broadcast, Sinclair rose to the defense of the American people - and his voice was heard around the world.]

If the truth hurts tough, I am not a fan of Yuppy wants
that take away from people who need!!!

Have you ever noticed how things happen, and they say it is for a reason, then there are people make things happen for a reason, and that reason is ME, MYSELF, and I (more money or profit), better known as the HELL with any one else, and you really see this when you drive around this country, they are building Accident Circles, tearing up roads and take property to put Gardens and trees in the center where to get to a business, you have to go to the next intersection and make a U-turn and go back to the business you want to go to, and by doing this it wears out your tires faster and uses more fuel, then if you can’t make the turn in one pass you have to watch out for cars behind you turning or wanting to also make a U-turn, and they don’t maintain them, then if they do maintain them they hire more Government workers, which takes more money that they don’t have, instead of turning it over to a private contractor to produce a tax base to pay for what YUPPIES just got to have, then you have to consider the gas burned when they block off lanes to take care of them these center and shoulder gardens.

I talked this week with people here in Washington State and could not believe what I heard, it seems that this newer Generation believes that Privatizing of public State Parks and Land is a good idea, I don’t think that they really under stand what could happen years to come, because they say that the state does not put any money in to it so they need to do some thing to keep them from closing them. Well I have to agree on that they don’t take care of them, but they don’t take care of any thing they have, just look around and you will see that in a lot of thing they have control of, I look at it this way, where is the money going that people pay in taxes, and why do they keep buying more land if they are not going to support it. WHY are Unemployment benefits so important to increase I thought JOBS were Important, and why has it taken so long to get these jobs going, lets see Obama said that if we bailed out BIG BUSINESS there would be lots of jobs, WHERE are they, all I see is a lot of smoke coming out of Washington DC, but still no jobs, are they just blowing smoke out of their ass, it seems there is a lot of that the last TEN YEARS, for what, so they can line their pockets.
This is sounding just like the doctors today, go home and take these TEN pills and call me just before you DIE, then we will see if the pills did this to you, don’t worry about the side affects they won’t hurt you, but if they do, we had nothing to do with it.
Government and Doctors I think go hand in hand, TAKE TWO PILLS AND CALL ME IN A WEEK AND WE WILL SEE IF THERE IS ANY CHANGE, in the mean time thing get worse and all they can say is sorry, but we have a jobs and weekly pay, why don’t you, it’s not our fault, it is just you are too lazy to get out and find a job. The American economy isn’t just going through a weak patch–it’s mired in a “Lesser Depression” that poses a challenge more daunting than at any since the crisis of the 1930s, according to a major new study released Wednesday.

10/09/2011 ALCOHOLICS, WINOS, and YUPPIES GOT THEIR WAY For KIDS Deaths
The Alcoholics and the Winos show their colors, booze is now more available any where they go, and the State will walk away from it like they are doing every where else.
Are the going to walk away from what they are going to cause, more health problems, deaths, Accidents, Robberies, and Shop Lifting.
Now who gets to enforce the new law, Oh yea the ones who were laid off for lack of funds, and will be lucky to see any of that money that was promised to them if passed. It just like every thing else, money collected, General fund spends it at what ever they want, just like the lottery.
Now what is the State going to do with the money from the people who are getting let go? REMEMBER FOR EVERY ACTION, THERE IS A REACTION, Just think of the fall out of more jobs, Now who is next, with the State going out of Business and privatizing every thing the State does, will it be the highway workers, State Weight Control, Unemployment Offices, Parks and Recreation, maybe the Washington State Patrol, with privatizing NO more State JOBS. Just Politicians, TIME WILL TELL!!!

Here we are into another new year and there are no jobs to be had, or even seen in the future, why we still have people out there stopping progress, they want High tech jobs because they don’t want factories back in this Country, they think that it will interfere with their green projects.
I along with all the unemployed want to thank all you GRINCHES, YUPPIES, HYPOCRITES, ENVIRONMENTALIST, and groups that want Every Thing Their Way, and we can’t forget ALL Government Agencies that keep passing higher taxes, and laws to stop any Business from starting up.
Now is the time to start thinking of our CHILDREN and GRANDCHILDREN’S future, or there will be no life for them, or they could live like it was during the 1930′s, or worse, IS THIS WHAT YOU ALL WANT TO SEE?

I don’t think that they know how much problem they are causing by taking away things that Americans really need, people don’t need Turtle crossings, Duck crossings, Art museums, Performing Arts, that should be paid for by people who want it not the Taxpayer. This is where a lot of money is wasted because it is only for Special interest Groups who want some one else to pay for it, American need Cheaper Medical Coverage, Full Time Jobs that all can do, and less Tax Burden on the working class, not the wealthy.
